Werner - Beinhart (Germany, 1990) A mechanic and biker named Werner gets into wild adventures when he begins to hang out with a gang.

Werner was a popular German comic strip creation by Rotger “Brosel” Fieldman, but “Brosel” and his character have only earned limited exposure outside of Germany. Werner, in his comic strip series, is an anti-heroic and tasteless biker who loves beer and to have fun with life. Werner was popular enough to spawn a film in 1990. “Brosel” appears himself in the film in live-action sequences where he is burnt-out while writing a Werner film.

The film has plenty of low-brow gags and goofy antics as Werner goes from one cartoony situation after another. The resulting film, Werner - Beinhart, on its Christmas release was the most commercially successful native film in Germany for almost six years. The tremendous success of Beinhart helped spawn several more Werner films to be made over the years - its first sequel in 1996, Eat My Dust!, would out-gross the original.

Can I find this? Pretty hard. Beinhart and the other Werner films were only released in Europe and there has never been an English subtitled or dubbed release of any kind.
