My beloved,
the Moon and the Sun have danced across the skies many times since I last saw you, and I must confess I am growing restless - impatient, even - to embrace you once more. I dearly miss the candor of your smile, the lovely way the corners of your eyes crinkle when you grace me with your laughter.
I long to sink my hands into your hair and make a mess of its silky curls. I long to take your hand into mine and pull you away from the crowd (you never did like their arrogance, their loud mouths full of lies. Neither did I.) and dance with you into the quiet halls of your palace.
They call us freaks of nature, so I've heard, but isn't that what all true lovers are? Why should that be a shameful title, when our love shines so bright?
My family disagrees, of course; they have heard the rumors of our affair, and are urging me to marry someone of the opposite sex to protect my reputation.
How lovely, how hilarious it shall be when we elope and they are left with nothing but their precious reputation utterly ruined!
Please, do forgive me for my hasty words, but I can finally look forward to spend the rest of my life with you, and you are the only one who understands how content I am. Dear, I feel like my heart might explode as soon as I set my eyes on you, tomorrow night.
Until then, farewell. You make my nights lying in wait a little sweeter.
Yours,
X
This is so well written, I am swooning 💖 thank you so much!
