Do you still remember when Harry, Ron and Hermione had to hide from Voldemort and the Death Eaters? They had to move every day and they had to rely on their friends and families to help them. The same thing happened to Lily and James Potter at the beginning of the Harry Potter books. Sadly their plan didn’t work out. Still, it is obvious that whenever a magical war is happening, people are suffering. And that’s not only the case in our favourite fictional world: In our world, people are suffering too. They are leaving their homes and everything they have known for a small chance of a new life in a different world. You have probably heard by now, that refugees from all over the world are coming to Europe and Germany these days. As the HPA Germany, we want to state very clearly that we are supporting those who need our help so very desperately.
Therefore we will introduce you to projects and campaigns that support refugees in Germany during the next few weeks. Today (and only today) you have the amazing opportunity to welcome new fellow citizens to Germany. The campaign was started by #bloggerfuerfluechtlinge (#bloggersforrefugees) a nd is supported by the app MyPostcard. Last week, we sent postcards to a refugee home in Heidenau, Germany, and the response was amazing. This week, it’s Hamburg’s turn. Taking part in this will only take you a few minutes and it will be completely for free. Just follow these very easy steps:
1. Download the app “MyPostcard” to your phone. 2. Choose the category “Postkarte” and “Classic”. 3. Add a picture to the postcard (you can use #bloggerfuerfluechtlinge’s logo if you want, it can be found on the website below) and write a welcoming message - in English, if possible. The adress of the refugee home where you can send the postcard is listed on the website below as well. 4. Go to “Senden und Bezahlen” and use the promo code hamburg. This way, MyPostcard will pay for all costs. And you will be able to welcome people into their new home after all they’ve been going through. Thank you verry much for that.
The logo of #bloggerfuerfluechtlinge and the refugee home’s adress can be found here: http://www.blogger-fuer-fluechtlinge.de/bloggeraktionen/postkarten-schicken/
