Veronica chamaedrys
The Germander Speedwell (Veronica chamaedrys) has been unusually pale in colour this year; normally it is a very bright blue but lots of it has come up lilac! Surrey, UK, May 2026

My grandfather believes in the perfect lawn™ but we somehow managed to convince him to leave at least one part of the garden in peace. It’s amazing how many different flowers are starting to appear in the small area that’s now protected from the wrath of the lawn mower.
