✶ — @gerudospiriit asked ..." the look on your face says there's more on your mind . " / THE SOUNDS OF NIGHTMARES
"PERHAPS I JUST HAVE A VERY EXPRESSIVE FACE," she offers, swinging her mace with all her might at the sparring dummy set up on the outskirts of their makeshift camp. it'd been a long day of travel, complete with a battle against several undead, and despite the ache in her limbs, aurora needed to do something, anything, with her hands. much to her disdain, the mace practically bounces off the chest of the dummy (again) and her face scrunches. those warnings scratched into rotted wood — do not walk in darkness, turn to the light ... beware of the shadows ... do not enter — had caused her some discomfort. but, it was the thick veil of shadows beyond an entrance of gnarled branches and tree trunks that chilled her with a familiar dread. she'd been trying to keep a level-head all afternoon, after they'd all agreed to check out the monastery first before venturing into the lands halsin had told them about. now, as the sun begins to set, brilliant shades of orange and violet bleeding into the horizon over rocky cliffsides, aurora feels her panic clawing violently at her chest. she drops the mace at her side and sighs, finally shifting her gaze to nabooru. "i know that we must venture into these shadow-cursed lands if we want to find out more about this parasite, but i really ... really ... really don't want to." she twists the toe of her boot in the dirt. "do you think we can even trust halsin?" in hindsight, aurora knows the answer is probably yes, but she looks to nabooru anyway, searching for any hesitance in her to reaffirm her own. "i mean, what if moonrise is just one big trap and we're unknowingly walking right into it?"
