Every now and then an artist comes along who is ahead of his or her time. As good as this sounds – it is anything but a complement and it seems more like a euphemism for words like eccentric and quirky. Let’s be real, the innovators and hackers out there are far from ordinary people in the first place; and ordinary musician goes out and buys a new synthesizer, while the mad scientist tears old units apart to build his own. We tend to think of digital innovations as only belonging to the last couple of decades, but years before printed circuit boards were mass produced, the same experimental techniques were used on antiquated machines.
