[Derek found himself walking through the halls of his apartment, only on a floor that his room wasn’t on. It felt wrong. He didn’t even know what room number to look for. He tried to sort through his memories to find it, only giving him a headache. It was the first time he had left his home in about a month, as well, so he wasn’t doing too good either.]
[He found it eventually, knocking gently on the door. He waited for a moment, and upon not getting a response tried opening the door. He did not expect anything, but it surprisingly opened. He didn’t think Avery the type to leave his door unlocked. Nonetheless, he stood in the doorway. He cleared his throat.]
“Avery?”
-( @plat3dsorrow )
[The room was dark. There was no light except for that from a phone, laying face-up on a nearby desk. Avery's account. Derek had guessed right. The room was still, save for the silhouette of someone just beyond the bathroom door, light flooding into the rest of the living space from the bathroom.]
[ A knock on the door is heard, as somebody clears their throat on the other side before speaking. ]
"Greetings, Avery."
-- @404-fool
[He opened the door just a crack. Bright yellow eyes stared through the darkness, piercing and unnerving.]
"..you are Charles, correct..?"
[His voice was shaking. A large dog could be heard snarling deeper inside the apartment.]
".. please do not mind the dog.. she has not adjusted to.. this.. quite yet..."
