Through the power of plotholes I say that Der's sprite suddenly has a mouth feature they somehow didn't know about.
(Maybe Avery asked the artist and artist went "Oh, it does have a mouth feature! Did you not find it?" And boom
That's one of the things that are most-likely to happen. Either that or Avery just goes to the artist and commissions more sprites that actual have mouths (and maybe an actual face under the helmet).
Or there's the funny one that I just thought of: Avery goes into mspaint and tries to edit the sprites by himself. (it goes horribly)
im envisioning a beautiful world where avery and derek make it out alive and avery just keeps calling derek d3rlord forever. and derek replies with, in completely serious tone, "Mr TheMayo"

“I thought it was really good because the whole theme of the video is Avery not feeling enough. Right? If there's two things about Avery, it's that he's very morally driven. He really cares about others and he's not that smart and he's really good at Minecraft. Like, he's good at Skywars. So, this entire video is building up with him not being able to solve puzzles, not being able to do anything. Like, he fails at every single turn. He gets driven out and then just gets hit with this absolute truck of you are nothing, you are hopeless, you are meaningless, you are terrible. So, that's the point of that scene, right? That's kind of why I put it there. Just to like climax all of that, like build up Avery's helplessness and then really just capitalise.”

“This is a devious question because it's a very interesting reference and it's kind of funny. So, the second part, destroying a world that doesn't exist, is actually based on a breakup I recently had with an ex-girlfriend recently, like half a year ago. But that is there's inspiration from that. This is like, okay, I'm not gonna say like too much obviously because it's like no one's here all that, but the it was like a fine breakup or whatever, right? But I felt like we broke up for reasons that were fixable, but she didn't think they were fixable, which was frustrating because I thought there were like very actionable steps we could take to make things work, right? and she didn't see the same. Also, she had like other constraints, so it was like a bad time for her to be in a relationship, whatever. But it felt like I could conjure up whatever logical like argument made sense to me and she just like it wouldn't go through. And I wanted to like channel that feeling of frustration where you like keep trying everything you can, everything that makes sense and it just doesn't work. Like time after time you do what you think should work, what makes sense in your head and it doesn't. And that's what I based Avery on. Like that was the full inspiration for Avery's arc. It was like he tries every piece of logic. He's try he tries orchard counting the beds in the red orchard world. He tries translating whatever. He tries looking around. He tries everything. every idea he has to solve these puzzles just keeps getting shot down because I wanted like I pretty much projected my own plights onto Avery. So shout out that girl, she's a real one for inspiring the Video. Very good person, right? Um but I don't know. I think that's like that is fully what that dynamic was based on. It's unfortunate, dude, because it was fixable, you know? You guys know how it is. You've all been there. It's a fixable issue, but it is what it is. We try our best. So, that's how it goes.”

“Okay, so this is so funny. This is such a funny like chain of events. I mentioned in Ask We or something that Derek had a fridge of Soylent by his house. Okay. Like by his fridge or by his computer, sorry. I had a fridge of Soylent. Um because my favorite teacher from high school loved drinking Soylent. He would drink two a day. Uh so that's why that existed by the way. But in the original video, um no, where was I even going with this? I don't know. Derek doesn't drink smoothies. That's what I'm trying to get at. He drinks just like these mint chocolate and dark chocolate Soylent. And uh and that is that. Okay, this is kind of funny because Shimmering Stars said it in chat, [snorts] so I'm just gonna say it. Um, the reason I didn't say it was like a Soylent in the official video is I don't know if anybody knows this, but there was a huge like Soylent Minecraft drama back when Ant Venom did a sponsorship with them. Someone's going to know what I'm talking about, but like Soylent is like half taboo in the Minecraft community ever since. And I didn't know if like I don't know, so I just didn't say it. I I just said like he has like drinks or whatever, but that I don't know. whatever, but that I don't know. I thought that was kind of funny. Yeah, he has Soylent in his fridge. So, he doesn't drink smoothies if I don't know(?). A lot of words were just spoken on a very small plot relevant question.”

“This is a really good question, and I think it touches on how I see the lore and what infinite knowledge is in the context of this story. The way that I see infinite knowledge is that D3rlord3 mind is now a massive like filing cabinet where he has access to every piece of information in the world, but he has to look for it and he has to know what he's looking for. And the king can do this too, but the king is like as a being with a mind fit for this. The King is like very efficient. He like is actually omnipotent almost, right? But D3rlord3's like feeble human mind, albeit not corrupting while he's looking at his Screen, like he doesn't know how to use his infinite knowledge. Like he can easily like read any language and all that, but he has to know where to search to find pieces of information. So he can't just like think “How do I beat the King?” He has to like search for it knowing what he's searching for. And he doesn't know how to beat it. He can't just right like he can't just know there's a book with a spell and this is how it works. It's specifically he has to know what he's looking for. It's like an infinite library in his mind. So that's my uh that's my interpretation of how his mind works. Good question.”
