I try not to hate people for what they do and try to let it go, but is it possible to let EVERYTHING go?
Growing up in California, you automatically hate southern country music, and try to boycott it as much as possible. Why? Because it's different. That's it…… It's amazing the logic and ideology that people come up with these days….
-Anyway-
I've recently gotten into the country music mind set, having lived in Texas for the last 5 years. I figured it would be proper to sample….I'm sorry to say country fans, but most of the country songs are what "californies" despise about it. Southerners with typical life drama that can only express their angst with a banjo.
But there is one country song's message that really stands out to me. Zac Brown Band's "Knee Deep"
-HERE'S WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING-
Although the song basically entails going the magical exorbitant priced land of the west coast, the idea of putting everything away and living in a moment of zen brings an urge to endure.
I recently had a random wave of the feeling of zen* strike me at the peek of complete stress from work, human relationships, family, and education.
That feeling I had, reminded me of a place I stumbled across a while back that gave me a similar feeling, and I just felt like I should disappear off the face of the earth to that place.
-SO-
At some random point in time, I'm going to just fall off the face of the earth and live in my "zen garden" (as I call it) for however long it I feel is necessary. So, my apologies to you if you have a commitment from me that day.
-A country song made me think of all that-
*A state of Zen is a little hard to explain, zen is nothing… It is easier to explain what zen isn't: Zen is neither happy nor sad. It's neither the feeling of being rich or poor. It's kinda in the middle of that feeling you get when you are going into a deep sleep and kissing a person you really care about. You just feel….nothing
