He doesn’t miss the opportunity to tuck himself under the blanket again now that he has the chance. He’s cold enough as it is without Tanaka taking the blanket every five seconds. 

“You’re weird enough for an situation, don’t worry...” he mumbles, daring to look over his shoulder at him, “... Besides, I’m freezing. You wouldn’t want to.”

The strange creature is obviously displeased with his comment, hiding beneath the water’s surface. He looked like he was pouting, blowing bubbles in front of his face. 

Tsukishima leans a little closer, then immediately regrets it as the mercreature splashes water in his face. Glasses smudged he pulls back again, pulling them off his nose and wiping them off on his shirt. Ok, that was just uncalled for. 

“What I mean is...” he says as he cleans his glasses, “Human myths usually depict mer... people as sexy beautiful women, luring people to their deaths. You don’t seem like the type to lure people into a watery grave.” Or else I’m screwed

“.... Do I trust where your hands have been? I’m not sure I do.”

He knows that Tanaka is just trying to help but he really is grumpy today. Probably due to how little sleep he got the night before. Sometimes he regretted taking the college prep classes, even though he knows its the only option for him. 

Tsukishima sighs, rubbing his eyes under his glasses... and then leans back like Tanaka told him to.

hc + determination / motivation

Daichi’s motivation for starting volleyball was very simple, it was the only sport he tried that he enjoyed. His motivation for attending Karasuno was seeing the team compete at nationals. It was that dream that motivated him to push through the toughest times when reality didn’t live up to expectation. When things went wrong, he’d work himself into exhaustion trying to make up for any gaps in the team.

Daichi’s motivation for his studies is to eventually get a job that will let him help people. He will be studying molecular pharmaceutical science.

He’d been surprised as the door opened. Eyes widening, and then his expression turning into a frown. Dumb luck. “It wasn’t my idea.” After couch surfing for so long, he rather not go through the trouble of finding a new room. Hell, it probably wasn’t even possible. He got lucky with this one, just to be unlucky with the roommate. Go figure.

“Oh, so now you can be mature? How surprising.”

"Why should I bother to do that when I can simply watch everyone else do that and stumble around like idiots?" He fingered the phone that he had slipped into his hand with a small grin. Today was a fine day to collect blackmail and embarrassing pictures, wouldn't you say?

"Of course, if you want to join them I won't complain, Tanaka-san." Then again, a drunk Tanaka would probably be a total disaster... Oh well, he'd deal with that when the time came. For now he just wanted to lean back and see what sort of havoc he could cause.

When had this started? These feelings had been gnawing at him for a while. Daichi couldn’t pinpoint where it all began. As the evening practice dragged on, the usual energetic bunch were still going strong. He sat safely out of the line of fire, his eyes locked on Tanaka. Trying his best not to be obvious, he drew his knees to his chest with a soft sigh.

“C’mon, get ahold of yourself.” He grumbled under his breath. He didn’t know if he could ever own up to his feelings, but maybe it was worth trying.

“Alright, it’s about time to start wrapping up, the school is closing for the night.” He called out to the small group.
