It’s finals season, so I’ll be posting a bit less until afterwards. You can expect a big academic spell/ritual from me in the very near future. I think this one will focus on pure academics/memory/concentration, luck, and anti-stress/anxiety. 

I may also do a separate confidence spell.

Why I Changed My Username

I know y’all don’t care, BUT

My username used to be “getthisrootwork.” I changed it because I personally do not feel comfortable with calling what I do rootwork, since I draw from many sources. Furthermore, I do not believe that rootwork can be learned from books, so much as learned from a rootworker trained in tradition. Because I am an African American descendant of enslaved people, rootwork/ hoodoo is still the path that I am drawn towards, but I do not feel the need to claim that title. Many people are (annoyingly, but perhaps rightfully so) very protective of that title/ label. “Getthiswitchwork” is a lot more appropriate for where I am with my beliefs and practice. I will continue practicing as I have been with a focus in the rootwork that I can learn from books, while not limiting myself to it.

I am not posting this to invalidate anyone who does rootwork/ hoodoo. This is my own opinion based on the research that I have done.
