Life sure does have a way of kicking you, then continually doing so until you give up.
A few months ago my husband and I were stressing because we couldn't find a crib at a decent price for our baby. The base furniture store had decided to discontinue supplying baby furniture, we couldn't order online and get things shipped here and the cribs in the German economy that we found were all looking at costing us a minimum of 300 USD. (Not to mention they looked like boxes with slits cut in the side.)
From there, the stresses only continued.
We'd peruse the local and base stores for items we couldn't order online and make notes so that we could come back at a later date when we had been paid or were a bit closer to our due date.
This included stuff like a breast pump, outlet safety covers for the European outlets, diaper genie and so on.
Each time we went back to the store (No more than a month or two after scoping things out) we noticed the items were no longer there and other items were stocked in their place. (After months and months of being on the shelves.)
But the real kicker came today when my husband went to the base furniture store to buy a small dresser for the baby clothes we've acquired.
There, on the floor, being advertised....
Was a plethora of baby cribs and changing tables.
When we asked if the floor models were all they had, they informed us "Oh no, we have a lot of stock in the back room."
APPARENTLY, a few weeks after we had visited, trying to find a crib and changing table, the furniture store decided to change its mind about discontinuing baby furniture.
My husband and I went through HELL for a couple months trying to find just a damned crib. We even left our phone number for them to call us in the event that they somehow came into stock again. Nothing.
Talk about getting shit on.
I'm so angry, irritated, frustrated, and just plain upset at this point. It seems any time we turn around, we run into some new obstacle or issue that's making this whole experience miserable instead of exciting as it should be.
And that is my rant for the day.
