Supermarket giant Tesco is expanding a scheme which gives unsold food to charities from warehouses to include some local stores.
Leftover food from 10 of its UK stores will now also be available to local charities through the UK food redistribution charity Fare Share.
Tesco said of the 55,400 tonnes of food it threw away in the last year, 30,000 tonnes could have been eaten.
Look at this. Even TESCO deals with famine better than David Cameron.

and yes omg i have so many feeling about the riots. like people have been criticising and downplaying them (especially the media, ugh so biased) and calling the protestors ‘stupid pointless left wingers’ because ONE person defaced a war memorial. Like 1st of all, one person’s thoughtless actions do not represent a whole freaking movement, second of all it’s not ridiculous to want to revolt against a corrupt party. Yes the conservatives got a majority with the first past the post system, but they did not get a majority with representational voting AND THERE ARE MORE LEFT-WINGERS AND PEOPLE WHO VOTED TO KEEP TORIES OUT. Third of all, who the hell cares about them winning a majority anyway, this may be a stretch but let me remind you that the Nazi party got into power fair and square in Weimar Republic. SO WHAT? Doesn’t mean their policies aren’t freaking detrimental and extreme. Conservatives want to SCRAP THE HUMAN RIGHTS ACT. Yeah you read that right. Then make cuts to benefits, healthcare and the fire/police department! No one would have revolted against a labour government, yeah a few tories and rich people would have been bummed out that they had to pay a little more tax to support the people on benefits but LABOUR’S POLICIES WOULD NOT HAVE KILLED ANYONE. Tories are literally going to make people homeless and kill them. Literally. Causing. Lives. So yeah we NEED to revolt and we NEED to #GetToriesOut
Guys please continue to spread awareness of the protests in London. The media hasn’t even mentioned them at all and since the result of the election, shit is going down. The Tories are continuing making cuts on our emergency services including fire stations and our NHS. If you aren’t filthy rich, frankly they don’t give a shit about you. The gap between rich and poor is enormous and the fact they’re reverting back to the Thatcher regime disgusts me. One terrifying thing is that they want to repeal the Human Rights Act, and this has meant that I, along with many other Britons are living in fear of the possibility of our rights being taken away. They want to remove the ban on fox hunting, the previous education minister who is now Minister of Justice wanted to bring back hanging. I know other countries are in danger - my heart goes out to them - and they have endured this suffering for what seems like forever, but we have been used to having our rights and living in a democracy. Also the voting system was completely unfair, the Green party receiving over 1 million votes whereas the Tories attained just over 35,000.
Basically I’m scared.
An interesting thought.
A majority of 29+ Scottish MPs in Westminster are considered the “will of the people of Scotland”, stated in the Treaty of Union.
No Act, Bill or statute concerning Scotland can be passed against the “will of the people of Scotland”.
In other words, theoretically, by constitutional law, Westminster cannot pass any laws affecting Scotland without the SNP agreeing to it.
Please, oh please let this be the case.
