Summary: Gex learns that Rez is back and up to no good again, but when his partner Xtra is too sick to join Gex on his mission he ends up going on this mission with an unexpected character. Tag: Mutual pining, first kiss, fluff and humor, action, adventure

Gex was relaxing in his TV room catching up on the movies he missed out on while he was out on missions, he swears Rez should install an undo button for all his minions. Something like that would make Gex life much easier, as the movie he watches finishes he hears a beep from his lair. Gex gets up stretching before making his way to the Gex cave, as he takes the hidden entrance the beeping gets louder. “Didnt know you guys needed me on the red carpet so badly!” He reaches the computer opening up the message, as he reads Alfred arrives with a cup of tea.

“Is everything alright sir?” Alfred hands over the cup, Gex nods as he begins to drink the tea “Seems we found the last batch of Rez minions, going to call up Xtra to get ready.” The turtle nods taking a step back as Gex starts to dress, once his suit is on he dials Xtra number. After a few rings the screen showed an exhausted Xtra “Hey tiger,” she let out a loud cough before looking back at Gex. He frowns seeing how pale her face is “ Looking pretty pale there baby, everything alright?” Xtra gives him a small smile “Ah I just managed to get a TV cold, didn't think water from the media dimension would get me so sick.” Gex nods as his eyes drop to the message, he then gives Xtra a charming smile as he finishes his tea “I see, I don't mean to interrupt your recovery then Xtra its important to get your rest. Getting sick from the media dimension is no joke!” Xtra frowns after letting out a small cough “Gex you never call unless something has come up, is everything going alright at base?”

Gex lets out a small chuckle shaking his head, he couldn't let her know about the mission. He has known her long enough she will still want to not let her cold stop her, the guilt would kill him if he put her in danger just to get a simple job done. “You worry too much baby, can't a gecko call someone as beautiful as yourself just to say hello?” Xtra still seemed unsure as she began to type on her computer, seeing that Gex blocked her access to his emails “No you don't, Xtra where is the trust? We have known each other enough to know if there is a huge mission I will come to you first.” Xtra rubs her eyes feeling her fatigue getting to her “Alright…I trust you Gex, please don't go off doing something reckless again okay?”

As they hang up Alfred smiles softly at Gex “Well then without our dear lady, who will you bring with you on this mission? I assume you need a plus one for this channel?” Gex puts the cup down thinking over what to do “I mean I’m sure I can find me a date, I’m a gecko many would like a shot with.” Alfred nods as he casually pulls up another number “Or perhaps you're trying to avoid asking for a real plus one?” Gex stares at the contact name, he looks over at his butler crossing his arms “Bubsy?” Alfred nods “As we speak your tail is wagging at the thought.” Gex eyes go wide as he looks over at his tail swaying side to side, he lets out a cough then eats a fly.

Gex hates to admit his feelings for the bobcat after all he isn't a relationship kind of gecko, he chats up people tells them he is only interested in a fun time then they move on. Yet he couldn't do that to Bubsy, when they met everything felt natural, the moment his eyes met with the bobcat’s at the bar changed something in him. They had a fun talk then the next day he got a surprise call from the cat, he honestly didn't think the man would call. Then before he knew it Bubsy became a huge part of his life along with the twins he takes care of, the more he thinks on it his stomach flips. His breathing was beginning to become rapid, noticing this he turned his mind to the mission at hand. He looked over his mission making sure he knew which genre they were going to be in, his eyes narrowed seeing it was a romance drama about forbidden love between a member of high society and a member of the lower class. He sighs getting up packing what he needed, Alfred looks at the mission briefing quickly “Ah Five million away, a classic series I do enjoy watching.” Gex chuckles at the comment "Weren't aware you were a TV watcher, always see you reading.” Alfred nods as he takes his place next to Gex “Of course sir, I wouldn't be the best butler for a TTDU agent if I was blind to what goes on in tv.” Hearing his butler comment made him chuckle as he closed his case, as he gets ready to make way over to Bubsy’s home Alfred remembers something “Sir may I ask, is Bubsy aware of how certain channels work?”Gex keeps walking to the door, as his hands grab the doorknob he looks over at Alfred then winks. He watches as Gex leaves the lair “That wasn't an answer sir…”

Bubsy stares at a letter on the counter, the twins look at the letter then to their uncle. Annoyed by the silence Terri grabs the letter “If you two wont open it then i will!” Bubsy slides up to her, snatching the letter from her hand “No you don't! See the reason i havent opened the letter is cause ...hm I know for sure i got the roll, My manager has never failed at getting me roles!” Terri rolls her eyes “You mean the same one that convinced you to do 3D? You’ve never told us, how did that go?” Bubsy crosses his arms as he looks off to the side, he did have to confess after the failing of Bubsy 3D he started to struggle getting work. He looks at the letter in his hand before ripping it open “It went great! Remember kids never surrender, unless the thing you're doing will get you canceled, maybe shake it up a bit at that point.”

As he looks over the letter his ears go flat, another rejection just the same as the other letters. He rips it showing the twins his iconic smile “Their loss if they think they can do better than me! We still have plenty of auditions to do, right kids?” The twins cheer as Bubsy tosses the ripped pieces away, Terri gets on top of her brother's head smirking “We should play a little trick on them, we can use the nerf ballzooka!” Bubsy chuckles at the idea “Ah a classic, sadly after the events of dealing with that money hungry pig the gun was discontinued.” A small whimper comes out of Terri as her ears go flat disappointed at the news, Terry gets an idea jumping up to cause his sister to slip off his head “Uncle Gecko!” Bubsy tilts his head “Gex? Well first of all i’m your only uncle, second what does he have to do with the audition?”

Terry jumps on the counter in excitement “Isn’t he a TV guy? He could help you get a role that will make you shine!” Bubsy rubs his chin thinking about the media dimension, the two worlds may be connected yet they acted so different from each other he wondered if pulling him into a show would get him some popularity. His train of thought is interrupted when the door bell rings, he turns to see Gex opening the front door. Terry gasps seeing the gecko “Whoa I summoned him…what else can I summon?” As Terry thinks over his new power, Bubsy walks over to Gex “Hey there babes, what brings you over?” Gex fixes his sunglasses then drops his suitcase on the nearby coffee table “Well I got a mission, thought you would want to be my lovely plus one for this one.” Bubsy’s eyes light up seeing the gadgets in the case, he then squints as he takes a few steps back “What's the catch?” Gex turns around acting confused “What do you mean? Baby have I ever asked you to join me on an adventure with no reward? The series we are going to is about dating the rich, think of all the fun it can be hero~” Hearing the word rich Bubsy’s eyes turn into dollar signs, Gex chuckles at the reaction as he hands over an earring.

Bubsy holds the exclamation mark earrings in confusion, he looks at Gex for a moment “Earrings? While they are my kind of style, last I checked I'm not some chick that swoons over jewelry." Gex chuckles as he walks over gently putting on the earrings for Bubsy, he relaxes as Gex takes hold of his ear “True, but I noticed your ears are pierced which is perfect. These earrings are for us to communicate with each other with no one catching on.” Bubsy touches the earring in excitement only to clear his throat giving Gex a smirk “While this adds to my already handsome appearance, I didn't give the okay to go on this mission babes. Think money and jewelry will win a bobcat over?” Gex smirks using his tail to bring the bobcat closer with a wink “No, but thought my charms would help. After all, can you say no to this face? Though i dont mind adding a reward after, just tell me what you desire and you will get it.” Bubsy blushes, looking away he scratches his cheek “Anything huh? What could possibly go wrong with a deal like that!” Terri sighs watching the men interact, she turns to her brother who is currently staring at an empty plate “I have no idea how uncle Bubsy doesn't notice Gex is hitting on him…what are you doing?” She stares at the plate then her brother “If I summoned Gex then i can summon us nachos, come on NACHOS!” Terri lets out an exasperated sigh, hearing footsteps behind her she turns to see Gex behind her. Gex throws a remote at the twins, Terri quickly catches breaking Terry from his focus on the plate “Channel ten, at this time don't miss it.” Once he is done he walks away leaving the twins to give each other confused glances.

Gex leaves the house to get in his car, he turns to Bubsy slightly concerned “You sure it's okay to leave those two alone?” Bubsy nods “They're old enough, plus the last time I did they almost took over the government so you know they can defend themself.” The gecko nods as he turns on the car “You taught them well.” Bubsy smiles brightly as tells the story, the bright smile along with the excitement in the man's voice when he talks about the twins reminds Gex of a proud father. He wondered if Bubsy ever noticed how much he acts like their father rather than an uncle. Hearing Bubsy chatting away gets his tail started, he curses under his breath feeling his tail wag from his joy. Luckily when Bubsy starts talking he doesn't stop, giving Gex enough time to relax on the drive.

The car ride felt short as he enjoyed his time hearing Bubsy’s wild tales, he parks the moment he sees his mansion. Noticing they arrived, Bubsy dashes out of the car doing a few stretches, a low purr escapes the man getting Gex tail to wag again “Heh cute.” He whispers before walking up to Bubsy “You ready for a fun time baby?” Bubsy smirks as he walks alongside Gex “Of course, this isn’t my first time in your cave you know!” Gex hums as they enter the hidden path making their way to the cave, hearing the door open Alferd turns around giving them a bow “Welcome home sir and Bubsy.” Bubsy waves excitedly as they walk past him to the portal room, Alfred watches as Gex bows towards Bubsy “Actors first!” The bobcat fixes his tie as he walks through the portal, as Gex gets ready to go in, his eyes meet the turtles. Seeing the knowing smile on his face was enough to hurry Gex through the portal, as they walk through he hears a scream.

He turns to the sound to see Bubsy looking at his reflection, the bobcat was no longer wearing his iconic white suit jacket and red tie. Currently he had a short blonde wig, his outfit changed into a long red dress. Not only that it appeared the bobcat is now currently wearing make up “WHY AM I A WOMEN?!” Gex holds back laughing as he walks up to Bubsy “The media dimension scans and decides which character fits best, can't say i disagree you look good in that.” Bubsy crosses his arms glaring at Gex “So I’m just a side character while you get to be the main one, there is no way this channel doesn't know the main character even if it hits it in the face!” Gex chuckles amused before Bubsy snaps his finger “I have an idea, since I’m supposed to be one of the love interests I'm going to steal the show!” Gex tilts his head watching Bubsy spin showing off the dress “I’m going to be the girl everyone cheers to win the guy at the end, after all only someone as pawtastic as me can slay in this outfit.” He then wraps his arm around Gex, slowly his facial expression changes. His expression was enchanting, seductive as he gently pulled Gex to follow him to the ball. The moment they made it to the door the guard pauses, staring wide-eyed at Busby, he winks at the wolf making the man blush. Disregarding the list he quickly opened the door “Oh let me get that for you beautiful.” Bubsy lets out a flirty giggle as they both enter the building “Nice going, normally you're a terrible flirt.” Bubsy looks at him confused “Flirt? When was I-” Gex puts a hand up interrupting the man, he looks around the party seeing several characters.

“Im going to mingle, do what i do best, stay here and wait for me to contact your earring.” He walks into the crowd, he hits a switch on his watch looking for glitches. Bubsy rolls his eyes walking over to the bar “Bad at flirting he says, please I have dated models.” As he says this a sigh escapes, he orders a gin then waits by the bar. He notices several people looking at him, he shows off his greatest asset, his big smile which seemed to have attracted someone. A woman sits next to him smirking “Ah you're the woman that came with the gecko, abandon so soon?” Bubsy narrowed his eyes at the tone she was using, it was clear this was one of the competitors for the series they are in. The bartender hands him the drink making the woman's smirk turn into a huge smile “Drinking away the rejection, I can understand that. He is quite the handsome gecko, you think he has money?”

Bubsy grabs the straw and starts to sip his drink, the woman kept talking to him laughing at him being at the bar drinking. Letting out an exasperated sigh, he turns to her “You done? It’s easy to put someone down but you seem to not understand something, I don't give two two full litter boxes what you have to say. You're just a side character to lose to the true main character, me.” He finishes his drink then walks away from the woman, seeing him walk away she quickly gets up following him. The human steps in front of him glaring “Cocky bitches like you won't get far in life.” Bubsy flips his blonde hair smirking “Not cocky at all, I just know I'm good.” He hears a sound from his earring catching his attention, he quickly scans the crowd seeing Gex getting surrounded by a group of women. He pushes past the one talking to him to make his way over to his partner, he grabs Gex hand pulling him close. With a wink at the shocked women he walks to the dance floor with Gex.

As the song starts playing Bubsy ears go flat as he nervously looks around, Gex lets out a sigh of relief "Thanks for that, my scanner picked up one of them being the leader of the minions of this channel. Only for them to…you okay?” Bubsy looks up at Gex letting out a shaky laugh “Purrfect! After all there isn't anything I can't do…like dancing!” Gex looks around seeing couples dancing while the two of them are just holding hands, he studies the bobcat's body for a moment before pulling him close. Bubsy looks at him confused as the lyrics start in the song, Gex slowly adjusted his hand placement. Dance with me, make me sway Like a lazy ocean hugs the shore

Gex gently moves the blonde hair out of the man's face with his tail. “I will show you the moves, I will be subtle after all I wouldn't want to steal your spotlight.” Slowly the pair moved along with the beat, Bubsy couldn't help himself looking down at his feet. He felt anxiety take over, thoughts about making a fool of himself again hit him hard. If he couldn't catch up he would also bring Gex down, that thought caused him to stumble slightly. Noticing where his dance partner was looking, Gex used his tail to lift up Bubsy's head. He looked into Bubsy’s eyes, making the bobcat blush slightly “Just focus on me, nothing else.” With a nod Gex pulls his tail away, after a while of dancing Bubsy starts to feel more comfortable. With his anxiety leaving he couldn't help smiling brightly, the smile didn't last long as Bubsy felt himself stepping on his dress.

He looks down at his outfit annoyed as he attempts to fix his footing, he growls at the dress “How can people just-” before he could finish his thought he slips. Seeing Bubsy lose his footing Gex quickly uses his tail to pull Bubsy closer, Bubsy blinks taking a moment to register the position he is currently in. Gex winks at him “I got you baby~” Bubsy chuckles going along with the dip Gex pulled him into “That you do babes, sure know how to get a bobcat off his paws.”

A flash catches the pair's eyes as they look toward a group of women, the woman from the bar glitches for a moment showing a small robot gecko. The pair look into each other's eyes, with a nod Gex helps Bubsy to his feet then break apart. Gex walks up to the group laying on the charm while Bubsy stares at him, he normally ignores the fuzzy feelings that hit him. After all, as an actor everyone he dates, everything he wears has to be an ad of some sort. He gently touches his earring remembering how he had to pretend to be emo due to it being a fashion trend, he wasn't a fan at first though over time he did enjoy wearing earrings. The only reason he didn't wear them after the trend was all the hate he got after making a certain game, he also made sure not to do fake relationships again. He lets out a chuckle as he admires Gex “This lizard sure has me wrapped around his tail.”

Gex smirks as he taps his watch, seeing the sign Bubsy takes out his claws making sure to cut his dress shorter. With more freedom to move Bubsy gets closer, Gex leans close to one of the women “You know there is one line i use a lot that really makes a woman swoon~” The human gets close to him with her eyes sparkling “You already make us swoon, what else could you say to win us over?” He quickly checks on Bubsy before swinging his tail smacking one of the girls, the group gasp as Gex smirks “ITS TAIL TIME!” Seeing they are under attack the gecko robots remove their disguise, they charge toward Gex only for three of them to vanish in a ball of dust. The robots stare at it surprised, distracted Gex slammed another robot with his tail. The gecko bots turn their attention back to Gex, their red eyes glaring at him. Once the dust cleared behind them Bubsy blew on his nails, his wide smile showing off his fangs. The bots break into two groups, their attention focused on both of them. Gex takes his place next to Bubsy “Nice going there!” Bubsy looks around the room seeing how many of the robots were in each group “Thanks! Not everyday I get to pick violence out of freewill!” The group shakes as a larger robot storms into the room, the pair exchange a look before staring at the tall robot “Do you know who we work for? The mighty Rez will not take this lightly when he returns!” Gex smirks as he takes a step forward “Sorry there, but this gecko doesn't take orders from a deadbeat dad.” The robot scans Gex before its red eyes turn yellow in confusion, seeing that Gex takes his chance to attack the group of robots to his right. The moment Gex gets into action Bubsy turns to the other group “Alright everyone, I know you want a piece of me. I mean who wouldn't? I'm great, which is why I will gladly offer you an autograph from yours truly!” One of the robots charges at Bubsy, acting quick he moves out of the way then destroys the robot “Alright cartoon violence it is!” Seeing the small robots being destroyed angers the leader as he swings grabbing Bubsy “SURRENDER GEX OR YOUR WOMEN GETS IT!” Bubsy kicks his legs growling at the robot “I’m not a woman just so you know, now let go of me you hunk of junk!” The leader pauses, scanning Bubsy, its red eyes going blue in surprise. “Oh my bad, you look really good as a female.” Bubsy stops struggling for a moment smiling at the robot leader “Aw you think so? I was a bit worried at first seeing myself blonde, but you know I do own it don't I?”

Gex finishes off his group looking up in concern, he wasn't sure how long Bubsy could keep up the chatter before the robot notices the others are destroyed. He taps at his watch doing a quick scan of the leader, seeing the inside of the leader, Gex notices a strange box inside of the machine chest. Quickly he calls out to the cat through his earrings “Bubsy, get his eyes on you!” Hearing this snap the bobcat back to the mission, he lets out a sheepish chuckle before turning his attention back to the robot. He gives his iconic huge smile to the robot “Say you're not so bad for a robot, how have you not been in any movies?” Hearing this the robot brings Bubsy closer, now fully focused on the bobcat Gex takes this as his chance. Carefully he places his hands on the wall beginning his climb, as he makes his way up the wall he turns to check on Bubsy.

The robot sighs as he uses his thumb to pet Bubsy “I always wanted to be the iron giant but…Rez said I wasn't built for that.” Bubsy gasps “How could he say that, you're more than just a minion.” Gex positions himself above the leader, slowly he lets go of his hold on the roof landing on his target. The leader jumps up as he swings around shaking Bubsy, Gex quickly sticks himself on the robot's back waiting for the right time to swing his tail. Bubsy starts to scream as he starts to feel sick from the swinging "DON'T SHAKE THE BOBCAT!” The leader starts reaching around his body with his free hand, Gex avoids the hand smacking the robots back. The tail slam causes the box in the robot to crack, Gex lands on the floor seeing a liquid drain out of the robot. His eyes go wide as the robot starts to drop “BUBSY!”

The leader hits the floor causing the whole set to shake, as the leader starts to shutdown he slowly opens his hand. Bubys sat there on his hand shaking slightly “I…am…superman…” He turned off causing Bubsy to frown “Yeah, you really did have the talent to be the iron giant.” Gex runs over to the sight looking around in panic, the moment he spots the red dress he sprints over. Bubsy squeaks from the surprise grab from Gex “Oh thank television you're okay.” Gex slowly lets Bubsy go the moment his tail begins to wag, he coughs as he looks at his watch “We have a bit of time before our portal arrives, think after all that fighting we should take a seat.” With a nod the pair take a seat as they look around the mess, Bubsy lets out a loud groan as he fans himself seeing this Gex chuckle “Hey thanks for being my assistant on this.” Bubsy smiles lightly tapping the gecko's shoulder “Of course! I must ask though, who does the make up for this world? With all this cartoon violence my make up is still perfect, I'm sure Terri could make some serious cash with this!”

Gex shakes his head smiling “Who knows, but you certainly nailed being the most beautiful woman at the ball today.” Bubsy blushes as he fidgets with his earring, he pauses for a moment as he touches the earring. “You know, the reason my ears are done up is due to this emo trend back in the day. My manager said going emo and dating models would help my image, get me all the movies, games and cartoon pilots I want.” Gex leans forward making sure to focus on the man's words, it was rare when Bubsy talked about his past, there was no way he would risk missing a single word. Bubsy turns to look at Gex, his sad expression feeling foreign on the always happy face the bobcat has “I was even to get married to Oblivia, I agreed cause anything to show everyone just how great I am!” Gex eyes slowly drop to the man's hand, seeing no ring he couldn't help himself from asking “Given you have no ring, she said no?”

Bubsy lets out a bitter chuckle “She called me out in private, she had a feeling I wasn't the playboy the media showed me as. While she fell for me, she figured I..didn't swing that way. She wanted me to have freedom then locked in a marriage where I couldn't find real love.” Gex watch beeps, he quickly covers the sound with his tail as he scoots closer to Bubsy. Slowly he grabs Bubsy hand “Well thank you for this wonderful talk, getting to know you is a pleasure.” The smile Gex gave Bubsy at the moment made the bobcat face turn red, he pouted slightly annoyed that his new found gecko crush had to be so charming. He had the right mind to just kiss the man next to him, ignoring his thoughts, Bubsy moves Gex tail off the watch “Time to go?” Gex nods pointing to where they have to go, the pair walk over seeing the portal waiting. Bubsy walks to the portal sniffing it for a moment before going through it with Gex behind him. He blinks seeing the twins smirking at him “No way! You got the twerps to help us home faster, you two did great!” Gex lightly tugs at Bubsy’s jacket “Not to mention your back in your normal outfit.” Bubsy looks at himself before jumping in joy, he thanked all the yarn in the world that he is back in his comfy clothes. Once Bubsy lands he turns to Gex outfit also changed, he had to admit Gex wearing his spy outfit always made him swoon.

Gex takes back the remote from the twins then places it by the door. “With that I'm sure you would like some rest, do let me know when you decide what reward you want.” Bubsy rubs his chin thinking of everything he wanted, yet all that came to his mind was the dance they shared. The way he felt in the man's arms, how charming the wink he gave him was. He would hate to lose Gex over feelings he has, shaking the thoughts out of his head he knew what he had to do. He is in his thirties, he has never had a real relationship, he isn't a teenanger anymore he is the one and only Bubsy Bobcat. Thinking back on what he felt moments before, when they were talking Bubsy felt his face warm up. Taking a deep breath he stomped over to Gex catching the twins attention. Terry tilts his head “Never seen uncle Bubsy so determined, he looks so cool!” Bubsy taps on the gecko's shoulder getting him to turn around, Gex turns looking at the bobcat waiting to see what the man wanted. Bubsy grabs the collar of his tux and pulls him close, his lips pressed against Gex causing the gecko’s tail to wag in joy. Bubsy couldn't help himself lifting one of his legs in pure joy from finally kissing Gex, once the kiss was over he turned and ran off “THANKS FOR THE REWARD!”

Terry jumped in excitement over the sight “AHHH TERRI THEY KISSED!” Terri smiles softly from the moment “About time, felt like we were waiting years for this.” Gex slowly touches his mouth in complete shock over what happened, Terri slides up next to him “Uncle Bubsy is a huge tuna fan, you know if you wanted to ask him out or anything.” Terry joins his sister as he slides over to the other side of Gex “Uncle Bubsy will be free on Monday, if you catch yourself free on that day too.” Gex takes in what the pair said as he grabs the remote leaving the house, Terry claps in excitement “You think Gex will ask out our uncle?” Terri shrugs as she lets out an evil chuckle “If not we have some good black mail to help give our uncle a boost.” Terry peeks over her shoulder to see her phone, there was a photo of Bubsy in his wig and dress. Terry gasps in awe “Uncle Bubsy looks so pretty!” Screaming was suddenly heard causing the twins to look up “I FINALLY DID IT!” Terri couldn't help laughing at her uncle's excitement “Maybe..I will hold off on the blackmail for now.”
