Since the date 6/18 is so important, would that be the first day dip and mab arrive at the shack? I wonder if their going to time travel to that specific date too. Fyi, whenever i see 618 irl, i internally freak out.
6/18 is Ariel and Alex Hirsch’s Birthday so it appears because alex likes having numbers repeat themselves. Though 618 are the first three digits after the decimal place in the golden ratio which is also associated with golden triangles, an isosceles triangle that occurs in equilateral pentagrams where the longer side divided by the shorter side equals the golden ratio. I’m pretty sure Alex’s connections to triangles was entirely coincidental and not preordained or connected to any sort of “muse” in anyway, shape or form.
In the show Dipper and Mabel officially arrived either the beginning of summer vacation or after the school district required testing for progression to the next grade was completed (seriously some kids have parents who do this) which for kids Dipper and Mabel’s age in Piedmont CA would be near the end of May (the 18th or 19th being the last day I think). Plus the late May arrival date would be early enough for Headhunters to be on a waxing moon phase at the beginning of June 2012 (Full moon was the 3rd, 4th and 5th, with 4th being peak full moon) and enough time between their arriving and Hand that Rocks the Mabel for Gideon’s line about Dipper and Mabel having been there 2-3 weeks work as well without being too close to the end of June (Dipper says “sorry for accusing you of murder last week” to Toby on the phone the day that conversation takes place).
Timeline wise the only dates that matter to me are ones said or referenced directly in the script Summerween being the 22nd of June on Stan’s calendar which Dipper mentions and Soos’s birthday being the 13th of July. The calendar in Sock Opera is not only inaccurate for the days of the week in 2012 but also is never mentioned in the script where as the days of the week are mentioned when Mabel says “by Friday”. The 13th of July is on a Friday making it the Friday after Sock Opera and if we consider every episode after Blendin’s Game there is not only plenty of time (42 days to be precise) to fit everything before August 24th (the date of the most recent episode). Between Summerween and Blendin’s game is a tight fit and if time in the show were in fact logical we would have to assume many events happened very soon after each other. Like beginning later in a previous episode’s evening.
