[ feed ] bc kakashi in the hospital ? Yeah :sob:
non - sexual acts of dominance / accepting.
pain is something gai has grown used to, but the pain of a death that should have come but didn’t is far beyond anything he had ever prepared for. his entire body aches down to the bone, can feel every scrape of his own muscles beneath his skin, and it’s agonizing, but gai is merely grateful to still be breathing. the presence of his friends and comrades within the hospital has helped more than gai can express, able to take his mind off of the horrid sensations —– the high of the drugs they pump within him to keep him from passing out.
most of all, though, having kakashi by his side is what ultimately keeps his mind from straying to the negative. it’s selfish, he thinks, wanting to hoard kakashi’s time this way, but he wants to be a little selfish for a change. wants to have something solid and familiar by his side, something he loves far differently than he loves his students. kakashi has barely left the room in weeks, shooed away only by medical nin that only bother him for his own safety.
he’d never want his dear friend and rival to suffer for him, but it’s nice, knowing that he is cherished / that his life is cherished by the one person who’s always been hardest to read. besides, it always feels a little impersonal to be fed by strangers. ‘ i really appreciate this, dear rival, ’ he says around a mouthful of curry, seasoned to his exact liking, and definitely the man’s home recipe. ‘ i think the nurses are busy enough with everyone else —– they shouldn’t have to be stuck feeding me. ’ gai doesn’t mean to sound bitter, the twinge of it shocking even himself, and he quickly swallows his food in order to clear his throat. he doesn’t like not being able to move, and perhaps it’s hitting him now, more than ever, that he may never be the same.
‘ but anyhow … i’m glad you’re here, kakashi. ’
