Day 13-14: Paris to London to home
June 14th-15th, 2013
Today, we would be flying back to London, and then back home. Our flight wasn't until 9 PM though, and we still wanted to do some more in Paris.
The Eiffel Tower.
For instance, we still hadn't climbed the Eiffel Tower. We arrived at the Tower in the not so early morning, and were first dismayed to find that the line to ascend snaked across the ground in a never-ending squiggle. That turned out to be the elevator line, however, and we intended to take the stairs!

One hard climb later, we were as high as we could be without paying additional fees. From up there, Paris sprawled out before us, giving us a spectacular view of the whole city.

We stayed there for about an hour before beginning our descent.
We at lunch together, but soon parted ways to do what we wanted in Paris. Alex went to the French Pantheon, where people like Victor Hugo, Voltaire, and the Curies are buried; Chris decided to check out the Museé d'Orsay; Ajay headed over to the Champs Elysée to buy his dad a Father's Day present; while Don, Casey, Eric, and Zee embarked on a futile journey to the Paris Sewer Museum and Catacombs (both were closed that day.)
Le Pont de Champs Elysée.
We reconvened at our hostel at 6:00, and took the subway to the airport.
And with that, our two-week long adventure had pretty much come to an end. We had a short overnight stay in London, then flew back to Shanghai, stopping in Kuala Lumpur for a layover. It's been a great trip, guys. I miss it already.
Goodbye, Europe. Hello, Shanghai.
