Ninja Brian just casually going along with his usual day, maybe seeming a little tired or down and Danny’s like “you good man?” And Brian just… is suddenly crying and he’s just as confused as Danny

yes yes exactly! And you know what the best part about it is? it can go either way, in either/any universe, and work just as well

Danny is so taken aback that he almost recoils at the sight of his stoic partner suddenly breaking down like this, but catches himself in the moment and goes in for the comfort hug that he hopes it wanted. It very much is, and NB quietly buries his face into the crook of Danny's neck, clinging onto him as he tries to make sense of what's happening.

i go back to your promise ring fic/s a lot, and I have this headcanon that danny likes lightly clinking it on random things sometimes. both because it's fun testing out different surfaces, and to remind himself that it's there :) (also wasn't the tag ggfu or am i misremembering)

He loves hearing the different tones it makes, especially when he and NB place their hands together. And sometimes he just likes to admire it, sometimes becoming giddy or in awe that he’s committed to someone who loves him for who he is and he can genuinely give that love back.

I should write some more in that universe.

Sometimes I like to think about Danny laying on top of Ninja Brian and Brian being like ‘I’m gonna stab you’ “no you won’t” ‘…okay no I won’t’ and they’re very comfy

they like to call back to the times where NB was more unhinged than in recent years, but just to have a laugh. Danny especially loves bringing up stuff that probably would've gotten him cleaved in half before, but now just gets exasperation and mild resentment.

You know what that is? Growth. (i was going to add the gif here but tumblr apparently doesn't allow that anymore so fuck)

also that little scene you cooked up is so cute to me. like i'm just picturing them staying up way too late and then once they get to bed Danny plops on top of NB but neither of them does anything about it. And then that exchange happens and NB subsequently rolls them both to their sides, but Danny still scoots a little closer just because he can and it's very comfy

but yes this absolutely happens regularly at their household once they've been together a while. Bonus points if Danny's the one trying to fluster NB but it always backfires spectacularly once NB responds

LISTEN OKAY. I fucking love stuff like this. Just casual domesticity and wholesomeness. Yes yes, almost naked, but that's way past the point. Just enjoying each other's company ;;u;;

NB gets more nervous about the intimacy and closeness of it than anything else.

He totally does!

And Danny is always excited to receive them, not just because they’re gifts for him but also proof of NB’s growth and progress.

Taking part in things that interest him and not what their ninja clan made him focus on. Which was mostly carrying out murderous orders.

Danny still can’t help but giggle when he sees NB walking around their home in full ninja gear but also with bright green and red socks on his feet.
