Straight up what was Jabber's thought process here. The guy you've decided to pick a bone with just flips you a pool's worth of poison, unapologetically.
How exciting was that? Ya think he fell in love with Zanka here, too? He looks so in awe, mesmerized. The world of pain he was boutta get into— and I'm sure he would have gladly taken it, were it not a stop to the possible (decisively) fun ahead. (Banging my head banging my head banging my head going feral going feral going feral).
And then, of course, Jabber decides that "[Zanka] can take it". Like!!!! I WANNA BE ONE OF HIS SYNAPSES LIKE WHAT WAS HIS THOUGHT PROCESS HERE!!!! It's "been so long" since Jabber finally showed his full hand— Zodyl being the last person he ever fought for real, surely. And then, and then, this guy, Zanka— 0 remorse, 0 guilt buries Jabber under rubble and poison.
How fucking exciting is that? That Jabber can finally let go? That he can finally fight "for real"? (Nonwithstanding the final result). How euphoric he must be feeling at the thought that someone (that Zanka) can take all he dishes out? You think Jabber saw such lack of mercy and thought that Zanka was it— that Zanka was capable of giving him what he wanted? What he asks for? All that world of pain?
He thinks, at least in this moment, that Zanka is (or can be) tougher than him. That is what energizes him— the thrill lays in Jabber standing in defeat after a good fight. And he thinks Zanka can be the one victorious. He thinks Zanka can beat him.
I keep losing it. Over Jabber's call to action for Zanka— that Zanka doesn't have to hold back, either, that Zanka can finally let lose, "show his real self", that Zanka "can be free, when he is with Jabber" (going feral going feral going feral).
He is clearly SO EXCITED for the fight to come— and again, regardless of the outcome, that Jabber even THOUGHT all that of Zanka. Geez, man.
My emotions. And like, yeah, repeating myself here with it obviously being influenced by their first encounter that wasn't All That About It™︎. But!!!! Chewing at them. Gah. I just think Jabber believing in Zanka's strength is peak, after all.
Me whenever I think to Jabber's words:
AND DO YOU THINK ZANKA THINKS OF THEM OFTEN, TOO?? OF THE IMPLICATIONS JABBER'S WORDS BRING TO THE TABLE?!?!?
