Perhaps it was because the bombed-out Kandesa had become sterile and was devoid of plants, or perhaps it was because no one really came down there unless it was their turn to water, but Leo quickly discovered Zeya really liked the green room. She'd once found Zeya sitting in one of the large, empty flower pots, turning over a freshly plucked leaf between her fingers. There was a brief moment before Zeya realized she was no longer alone where her eyes were wide and curious, her face filled with wonder as she admired the plant. The look had vanished and was replaced by Zeya’s usual scowl as soon as she registered Leo’s presence, but Leo often caught herself wishing to see Zeya glow like that again.

anyways i don't think gemini heist even has a plot at this point it's just my girls being silly. for context some of them are on a recon mission to the palace before the heist.

“Did you make it into the security system?” Euna asked. Gabi shook her head. “The fiolite-based network is too foreign. I may have to ask Illiana for help when we get back to the ship.” She glanced at Zeya, who seemed utterly disinterested in anything other than her new stolen keychain. “Are we ready to go back?” “I wanna see the museum,” Euna announced. “What? But we still need to—” “Museum access is included in our passes,” Euna insisted. “Come on, Gabs. Let’s make the most of these seventy credits.” “I already saw the museum,” Zeya said. Euna’s expression stiffened. “Stay out here, then. I’m gonna see the museum.” Zeya glared at her. Euna glared back.  “I’ll go to the museum with you,” Gabi said quickly. Euna’s grin returned. “Yay!”

i know i said i wasn't going to post much about this new version of the gemini heist first draft until it was finished but the revised Space Vegas trip is turning out so much more chaotic than i ever planned and i couldn't help it

The fist was retracted from Illiana's face. Still, Illiana stared at it and the brawny woman it belonged to, who leaned over her, eyeing her warily in return. She knew only of Fiolsgadd's pure, violet light, but this vivid pink colour… this was unnatural. “What sorcery is this?” Illiana demanded. The woman— Euna— looked down at her still glowing hand, perplexed. “Deimos’ DexGrip 3000,” she said. “It's been modded to hell and back, but I wouldn't call it sorcery.”

TASTE

Leo nudged aside her veil with her glass just enough to take a sip of her drink, as if the sweetness of the wine could dispel the bitterness she felt at his words.

TOUCH

Purple light erupted from Illiana's fingertips, flowing into the lock. She could feel, in her mind, the various pieces of the lock’s mechanism as if she were running her fingers over them, and after having done this a few times, she knew which parts to move and where. Within seconds, the lock gave way, and with a creaky complaint, the door slid open.

SMELL

Sweet, fruity perfume filled Euna’s nostrils, making her head spin even more as she gazed up into [REDACTED]’s face.

SIGHT

Now that Leo had her back to her, Gabi couldn’t help but allow her gaze to linger on Euna’s face— rounded chin, small flat nose, rosy cheeks, and cupid lips. Lips that curved into a tiny smile as Euna’s brown eyes lowered from the ceiling and locked with Gabi’s. Gabi quickly hid her warming face behind the screen of her datapad.

SOUND

“I’ll do it,” said Zeya. Everyone whirled around at the sound of the soft, feathery voice behind them. Zeya now sat on the pool table, knees drawn to her chest. Euna, who had, in her shock, spit out a mouthful of lavaroot tea, wiped it off her chin with the back of her hand and demanded, “How long have you been there?”

“You got yourself caught is what you did. Not to mention you put Illiana in a very risky situation by taking her out into the open. What if someone recognized her? How are we supposed to get into the Palace then?” Euna shrunk back, but Leo plowed on. “Did you think of that? Do you think at all before you do anything, Euna?”
