Her smile was a kind one and her laugh was as light and soft as a feather. “Not pitiful. I just want everyone to take care of themselves. You look like you could use the sleep, that’s why I offer.”
She would have to be deaf not to hear the confirmation of her own suspicions in his voice. He sounded as exhausted as he appeared. It wasn’t painfully obvious, but it was signs that she always looked out for. Slumped shoulders, slow walk...
She blinked at him, not surprised by his distrust. “Turn you in... Why have you done something bad?” She asked, her tone suggested she truly didn’t know who he was. “I don’t want to kill you, silly fox. I just want you to get some rest. I don’t really care for the right and wrongs of society, my main concern is people who don’t take care of themselves. Besides it usually considered polite to ask a person, before just putting them to sleep. I promise I won’t touch your things either. In fact, I’ll watch over you if you want.”
She truly just wished to help set him at ease. She didn’t think it was healthy. She had a habit of helping random people, she just couldn’t help herself.
