DAVE was hesitant to admit it, but he was a huge fan of The Umbrella Academy, had been ever since he was a child. There was something so intriguing about the idea of super-powered children rushing off to save the world. He’d had a crush on the one known as Number Two since he was around ten, though when he was younger, he would insist that he had a thing for Number Three. That was before he came out. Now, Dave was a different person, a happier person. His family had reacted relatively well to his coming out when he was eighteen, though his uncle hadn’t been too happy about it. But honestly? Screw him. Dave was who he was and nothing and no one could change that.
Here he was, in the same city as The Umbrella Academy, and he couldn’t help himself. He made his way towards the giant mansion where the Umbrella Academy kids used to stay. He wandered around and stood just outside the gate. He wondered what they were getting up to now, wondered what happened to them. Rumor was that two of them had died, Number Five and Number Six, but there was no telling if that was true or not. Number Three had apparently become a big-shot actress named Allison. The seventh one had written a book that Dave had eagerly read as soon as it was released. There was no telling about the rest of them, though. Dave hadn’t heard anything.
As he stood, looking through the gate when he saw the door of the house swing open and someone step out. Dave’s eyes widened. Was this one of the former Umbrella Academy kids? Dave wasn’t sure, but there was no harm in asking. “Uh, hello?” He called out, hoping to grab the figure’s attention.
