Decided to go around Jamaa and do a little bit of pack hopping to see what everyone had to say about the upcoming Night of the Phantoms... will Greely finally make an in-game appearance, like Peck and Graham? ?? please it's been like so long and we only have 2 alphas with an actual model in this game
...I wonder what this "new approach" is?
Because well... first event, rifts appeared in specific locations around Jamaa, and we had to throw paintseeds into them to destroy them. Second event, the phantoms invaded Jamaa via the phantom portals, and we had to deal with them using the painseed packs again.
... I accidentally slept through the Christmas thing. Oh right, there was also something with the "Corrupted Mira" event? They somehow harnessed the power of the feather that Peck hid inside the statue?? I forgot what exactly happened there dgdhhdhshdhs
And of course, last year we finally saw what was under Mt. Shiveer's ice patch:

(well, just the eye. still a very cool minigame regardless! also juno statue ehehehehheheh)
So, going by the dialogue, kind of seems like we might be... taking an offensive against the Phantoms this year? Like not just defending Jamaa, but straight up retaliating and fighting the phantoms ourselves? (Oh right, that tidbit about Mesoterra's second attack simply being a distraction... but for what??? grrr I want to know NOW,!! I can't wait!!!!!!!!)
... I dunno. I'm just guessing that because Peck keeps bringing up that Greely is "up to something dangerous". And attacking the phantoms on their own turf sounds dangerous to me!* But it could just be something else entirely... who knows?
(*Yes, we have the phantom portals, but I kinda consider that as a few lone jammers just investigating the place and not the entirety of Jamaa banding together y'know?)
