Cotton Changeling, Sunrise Serpent, and Eye of Fortune/Misfortune for your boy Ginko :D
Cotton Changeling- What is a danger you and your f/o has faced? Were either of you hurt? How did you handle it?
Ha ha well…there is a point that both of them almost have their…souls taken. They get out of it unscathed, but it really helps them realize how they feel about each other. Torekka knows he doesn’t want Ginko to leave. And Ginko doesn’t want Torekka to either.
It’s unspoken, but they are more anxious around any sort of danger after that.
Sunrise Serpent- What is a fond memory you have of your f/o? What is one they have of you?
Ohhh that’s a toughie. Hm. For Torekka…there are points on their journey that he and Ginko end up in heavily snowing areas. It gets bad enough that they sometimes have to try and find shelter or build one for themselves.
One time in particular, they end up having to stay pressed against one another in a small makeshift tent. Torekka’s heart was beating really fast from being so flustered; but then Ginko wrapped his arms around them and tucked his face into their shoulder.
“You don’t have to be scared. We will be fine. It’ll be over soon and we can keep going like we always do.”
Torekka had to hold in a sob.
Now, for Ginko, it’s a time when Torekka woke up early to paint the sunrise.
Most of the time, Ginko wakes up first and the times he doesn’t, he always checks to see if Torekka is there and not off in a ditch tangled up in some mushi mess. He doesn’t openly say for him to stay put if they wake up first, however, Torekka can sense it from his facial expressions alone. Still, they can’t help leaving at times.
Eventually, he gets more relaxed about Torekka going off on their own since most of the time it’s to go paint scenery.
He walks quietly and slowly as he goes to check one morning and he hears Torekka talking to himself, a habit he picked up when travelling alone for so long.
“I’d tell him, but I think he already knows. I’m not exactly the most stoic person. He has to know how I feel, there’s no way someone like him couldn’t see how helplessly in love I am…
“I don’t want him to send me off.
“I don’t want to be a burden. He has enough as is…
“I can’t help but dream he might feel the same way. Just maybe.”
There is more said after that, and Ginko sits behind a tree and listens the whole time. There was no chance Torekka would ever say those thoughts to him directly. He replays the words in his head on repeat.
Eye of Fortune, Eye of Misfortune- Have you ever received a gift from your f/o? What’s something you have given them?
So thing is, Torekka’s bag was AWFUL. They don’t have the sewing skills to make their own and the one they used was very poor for storing all their painting supplies. Ginko buys a nicer one and has it customized to better organize their possessions. Torekka nearly passes out from sheer joy of receiving something so thoughtful from the love of their life.
Torekka has trouble with trying to give Ginko ANYTHING. If he finds something that could sell for a hefty price, Ginko would feel bad trying to sell it. If he made something as a keepsake, Ginko would have a hard time keeping it if it held little meaning. It would need to be something useful or very meaningful.
So he makes Ginko a box to hold his glass eye in a more secure manner. He paints it with mushi detailing that is the same shade as his eye.
“You might not let people really see it, but it’s still important. You should take care of it. Maybe it will help you remember…to take care of yourself.”
