Every single important date in the calendar he comes by to visit Tim's grave with products to clean it, flowers and a bento box or some picnic treats, lately even brings Mr. Quackers, the duck Tim asked him to care for, in fancy little clothes to show how well he's doing. However, Lio has never again worn colorful clothes, not ever since Tim passed away, his clothes became somber, always black and red, sometimes with a little splash of yellow for details, but never more, never again the vivid colors or patterns he once wore, and in his ring finger of the left hand, he always has the ring Tim intended to use to ask for his hand in engagement, to Lio it became his wedding ring, and even with him gone, the blond kept the implied vows and remained faithful to him... even almost a decade later.
"Hi, honneybirb." He says as he comes by to visit again and sits by the grave with a smile on his face. "How are you doing? Things look different since I last came to visit you. Mr. Quackers came too, but I let him have some fun at the pond, he was so happy to see it clean again after last time when we came and the place was all 'blerg', I couldn't take it away from him and that wagging tail of his." Lio gently runs his fingers over the smooth stone. "I'm sorry I came by later than my usual time, I had problems with a supplier this morning, they only delivered the fabrics by the beginning of the afternoon... and you know how I am with organizing the stocks, everything has to be in its proper place or else I'm driven nuts behind the production line."
He then paused for a long minute and leaned on the stone like he used to do when Tim was still alive, thoughtful for a moment. "I know we didn't marry. We barely started dating when you had to go, but... I knew from the very start that I wanted to live the rest of my life with you, no matter how long or short it would be. That's the reason I keep the ring and don't want to get in a serious relationship with anyone else, you were the only one and I want this to stay this way, but... I think it's time I try to build a family. I've been visiting one of the orphanages at Crime Alley and there's a group of kids there... I wonder if you'd like them. I want to adopt them, Tim. And I'm so nervous. I love them and I think you'd too if you were still here, but I'm so afraid of not being a good father." He sighs. "I wish you were here. You'd know what to say to calm my nerves."

After he died, Tim had noticed that he somehow remained, that he had become a ghost. It didn't take long for him to realise that he stayed due to his wish to protect and look after Lio.
At first it was hard to control anything, but he learned and it also turned out that a ghost has two states: one invisible and one visible. The visible state is draining and takes a lot of practice, but Tim had time. Though the only time he ever took visible shape was when Lio was asleep. He'd gently caress his cheek and hair or a quick peck on the forehead before he disappeared again. Okay so he had petted Mr Quackers a few times, he did miss the duck.
This time, as all previous times, he had followed Lio to his grave. Watched him and listened. He had felt the same about Lio, that he was the one, so he understood Lio's choice even if he had hoped his bunny would find love again.
The kids he spoke of, Tim already knew about, since he did follow Lio around. He liked them and they needed a good home, something he was certain Lio could provide them. For the first time in his ghostly existence, he bent down and spoke to Lio while he was awake, uncertain if he would be heard or not. "You'll be great. Just look at Mr Quackers and you always took good care of me." Even if he couldn't hear it, maybe what he'd just said would somehow reach Lio's heart and he'd just know what Tim was trying to tell him.
