Ghosty blanket and salted caramel latte in my favourite pumpkin mug 😍👻🎃
Okay, so the town I moved to has something called a 'yarn and yack,' where a bunch of people get together and work on crafts for a few hours. The first time I went was yesterday, and I was working on a baby blanket for a friend's first kid.
Anyways, I finshed the blanket (it is Tiny), and I started perusing the yarn that they had on hand. But inside the yarn bucket was actually a few finished crochet projects. Pretty tiny and pretty cute!
Then I find a blanket. It looked like someone just took a granny square and kept going, but it wasn't finished. Turns out that the yarn bucket was dropped off by someone after her grandmother had passed away, so there was no way she was gonna come back and finish it.
Listen: I just finished a blanket. I know how to do a granny square. I figured it'd be a cinch to finish the blanket.
Turns out that the lady never finished the blanket because she didn't have enough yarn to finish the last round. So I ended up undoing the bit of the round she'd done, finished and tied it off, and then used the rest of the skein to make little tassels for her blanket, one for each corner.
The entire time I'm doing this, I'm apologizing to the lady (for ripping out some of her stitches) and explaining what I'm doing and telling her that I hope she's happy that her blanket's finished now. By the end, I'm like "I hope you're happy with it, ma'am."
The other ladies look at me with a mix of 'she ok?' and 'lol that's cute.'
Please note that I can't see ghosts or anything; I just think it's nice that something she started in life eventually got to get finished. I hope it's somewhere in the library now, living it's soft, completed blanket life.
Ghost Photo: Hidden Figure
Does this photo show a mysterious figure under an ordinary blanket? #ghostphoto
The photo above comes from Reddit’s paranormal community. The OP writes: “My grandmother used to live in a creepy old house in a gated community for seniors. The previous owner had died there. One morning, her husband, who always got up a few hours before her, woke her up in a panic. He led her into the living room, where the blanket that was usually across the back of the couch was sitting…
