Despite his traumatic past, Charles is a cheerful ghost who knows how to wield a cricket bat. His loyalty and fierce protection of his fellow detective and best friend Edwin, Charles shows that he is loving, friendly and loyal.
Played by the talented and handsome Jayden Revri, Charles Rowland is a ghost I would want to be friends with.
i am now playing a mobile game that largely involves looking for shit in pictures based on word prompts. the gameplay looks like this:
as a result i have learnt the following:
both of these are "crane":
this thing is called a "caduceus". i don't even know the word for this thing in my mother language (in this search i just found out apparently the word for it in my mother language directly translates to "two-snake cane")
this thing is called a "candelabrum"
this thing is called a "fleur-de-lis"
this thing is called a "pinwheel". the word for it in my mother language is same as the word for "windmill"
this thing is called a "wind rose". i have just been calling it "direction symbol"
these are called "pennants". the word for these in my mother language is "rainbow flags"
"wallet" and "purse" are two very different things
i shouldn't know the world "abacus" but i know the word "abacus"
when you're looking for a "coffee maker", it could mean you're looking for one of the following four
but not this, because it's a "coffee grinder" instead
"bat" can be the baseball stick and the flying mammal. i know this word, it's just that this feature / bug makes you clench your fist when the word is the only tip in a hidden object game
"stamp" can mean one of the following:
both of the following can be called a "scooter". i thought you should call the first one a "motorcycle" instead
hi hi! Have you heard of Ghost Detective? It's a pretty good short vn (although the translation isn't the best but it's not bad either!) where at least in one ending the male lead is a yandere. Although a case could be made for him being a yandere in general but it's for sure in one ending.
Hello Cherry! Ghost Detective is a really fun game that we played together. It is actually pretty spooky despite all appearences and the good ending essentially has the MC reverse uno Ghost by making him into a yandere, which I really like and the MC in this one is pretty proactive as well.
The story starts with the MC late for her first day at work as a detective. Her boss Harison tasks her to a five missing person's report that has gone unsolved for a long time. He ends up teaming up with another person named Ghost. The MC and Ghost end up meeting up at a cafe to talk about the case. The case consist of five different missing people: Giselle, Hayden, Olivia, Sam and Tim. While leaving the cafe, Ghost almost gets hit by a truck but is saved by the MC. The MC starts to realize that Ghost is connected to the five missing person's case as he's wearing one of the missing person's headphones and the fact that he briefly mentioned when he was saved that the hand wasn't his. She decides to confront him about it at his house.
If she decides to confront him about it directly, Ghost will cause her to pass out and end up in the basement. Ghost reveals to her that he didn't kill the five people but rather took something from them because he loved them. He took their skin, hair, clothes and other things from them because he always wanted to see himself with those pieces of them, even taking the first letters of their names to make his own: Ghost. He plans to add the MC since he loves her so much.
In the good ending, the MC makes a deal with Ghost in that she will give all of her to him and be his one and only if he lets go of the other people, returning them. He accepts this and takes the MC. The other five are found later and the last scene is Ghost talking to the MC, happy that he has her heart and it gave him emotions just as humans have.
In the bad ending, the MC investigates Ghost's room and finds pieces of the missing victims, like their hair, clothes and pieces of skin from a bandage. Ghost catches her and is furious, stating that he would have revealed everything to her if she had just asked. Ghost ends up kicking out the MC and the MC goes straight to Harison to present the evidence. However, Harison and everyone around her don't know or remember who Ghost is and she is cursed forever to be the only one who remembers him.
In the true ending, Ghost ends up taking the MC's eyes and she ends up meeting the other five people, all with their respective body parts missing that Ghost stole. He introduces the MC to the others, promising that they will be together forever whether they like it or not.
Starting off, Ghost can actually be rather frightening when he wants to be, having jump scares and unnerving moments like when he asks if the MC is afraid of death or while the two are discussing about the five missing people. I was pretty stupid and was mind blown when I realized that he took the name from the five different people that he he took the parts from. We don't even know what exactly Ghost is- not even the people he took his various parts from seem to know what he is, but he has a lot of different powers like causing people to pass out, taking different body parts for his own and even erasing memories from others.
I really like the MC in the good ending. Not only does she realize that Ghost was related to the five people rather quickly because of detective skills, she also was wiling to bargain her own life for the five others, essentially turning him into a yandere. I think it is pretty cool that she also resists his delusions for a while longer. Plus she has a rather cute design.
Overall, it's a pretty fun game that's short. The only big issue I have with it is that the translations are a bit wonky, but that's only because I assume the translation was done with someone who's first language isn't English. Still, I think it's really cool and the good ending shows a pretty neat idea for what a yandere could be.
Beyond evil (2021) is my #1 for probably years to come. Not my first Kdrama but definitely the reason I started looking for them instead of waiting when smth crosses my path accidentally. 6 re-watches and probably more to come, too many juicy details to fit in my small brain. Came out of this really attracted to Shin Hakyun.
Hotel del Luna (2019) Yeo Jingoo was not my main focus in Beyond Evil, but he has so many dramas that are worth watching on their own merit rather than because i'm into an actor. Hotel del Luna is spectacular, all the actors are brilliant in it (i love IU now). I started watching it smiling and laughing and ended it crying. And now i'm re-watching it with my sister, while crying non-stop from the first seconds. But it's fun, it's just smth is wrong with me.
Crowned Clown (2019) - masterclass of acting from Yeo Jingoo. I haven't really noticed anything else, i was just mesmerized by him.
The ghost detective (2018) just an easy enough detective story with ghosts, a lot of things technically similar to Hotel Del Luna but you're heart is intact and happy after all of this. I suspect this drama is everyone's cup of tea.
Sweet home (2020) my absolute favorite monster movie ever, because i like them character driven and heartfelt.
Squid game(2021) has tons of merch in our popular online stores, noone else does. This whole affair is just to sell stuff to the world, the show is ok at best. But the tug of war game got me jumping and screaming. So it has it's moments. (Love the guy from Beyond Evil)
Devil Judge (2021) last kdrama I'm gonna mention, not because it has any special place in my heart but it was homoerotic (not saying gay) enough to deserve my appreciation.
Word of Honor (2021) my cdrama baby. Objectively it is not the best but it is the bravest and the most genuine thing that i ever seen. It was an honor to watch it while it was ongoing and the drama after the show left me heartbroken, and almost incapable of watching cdramas again.
Crossfire (2020) cdrama about gaming with fantastical elements, best of it's kind and I watched all the popular ones. Has comedy and drama, and action, friendships, soulmates, het love stories that are not in your face and enjoyable, a disabled character that would be fine even if they didn't miraculously heal him (but it's China)
Imperial coroner (2021) cute costume cdrama. Healthiest romantic relationship ever and it was between a prince and a female! coroner! in "ancient" China!!! the girl is from Young Blood(2019) and I'm keeping an eye on all of them.
Prospect (2018) 1 of 2 american movies i watched this year. And it was a great choice. Just really really cheap but smartly made, simple but well structured, well acted, well written solid movie. about a teenage girl and several grown men surviving on a poisonous planet and trying to leave it. with Pedro Pascal.
Venom 2 (2021) I loved Venom back in 2018. And obviously i liked this one, for the same reason.
