I was watching this mini documentary about Science Saru's work on The Ghost in the Shell and I am fucking delighted with how much time and creativity was allowed to the artists in the studio
you hear so many horror stories about the modern anime industry and see so much poor quality animation rushed to meet the deadline, somthing thats only allowed because they get to redo it for the dvd releases (kind of like video games being released buggy because they can patch it later) that its really refreshing to see this series get all this love and attention
wheres that post about how Masamune Shirow would only communicate with the animators via emailing photos of post it notes, and that it took like 4 days to get a response from him for any thing? that would explain why she couldn't just ask the guy directly if he used a photo of plastic or not lol
