“If you hate this world so much, don’t ever come back from the other one”
We love a morally ambiguous MC! On the one hand, Soma was objectively evil and took pride in killing and torturing Motoko’s men, on the other hand, she also did a very evil thing by having him kill his 16 year old son who was innocent. I can’t really blame Soma for trying to get revenge on Motoko by having she and her boyfriend’s teams fight/almost kill each other. But tbf, his son never would’ve been in that position had he not been a terrorist.
Being another public security agent and dating Motoko must be so funny too because she’s never gonna miss taking a chance to brag about her team getting the win lmao. Another really fun episode that went by so quickly.
If it’s one thing my girl Motoko gon do, it’s pull. She ain’t ever gonna be alone for too long, whether it’s male or female. My bisexual queen 😭
Noticing a trend of her never being able to have a normal fun outing with her partner(s) though. The lesbian orgy got interrupted and now bombed with her man. You’d need a special insurance plan dating her ass
“I wanted to go back to you after I got cleaned up” 💔💔
The concept of having to drag your immortal girlfriend’s mutilated corpse in a blood soaked body bag, oh my God??
I knew a situation like this would inevitably happen, but I can’t believe how casually the teacher handed Sheena, a student, the body bag like it was no big deal, especially when Mimi is meant to be a classified top secret weapon?? Sheena is stronger than most because I would’ve broken down and been traumatized for life here.
What’s even sadder is the fact Mimi only keeps going by thinking about making it home to Sheena, even when she’s in immense pain, Sheena is the only thing on her mind and that pushes her forward
“Please for as long as possible continue to thrive and blossom” 🥹🥹
True love is selfless and only concerned about the person you love being happy and I just see that so well reflected in Sheena. She is a kind and empathetic person naturally, but when it comes to Mimi literally all she wants is for her to lead a happy life with no expectation of anything in return, almost like the love a mother has for a child. I just have a feeling that won’t get to happen by the end of this. Every episode has had me on edge lately where I feel like some heartbreak is around the corner, I hope I’m wrong.
Love will set you free..
I know the whole love conquers all thing is a little cliche, but idc, Rogue and Gambit deserve happiness! It’s a nice way to tie the ending of this season back to the start where apocalypse and rogue had that conversation about love being able to overcome any obstacle, something a person like Apocalypse could never understand.
I also really like how the super rogue form is basically the physical embodiment of she and Gambit’s love, this arc was definitely rushed, would’ve liked a few more rider of death gambit episodes, but Rogue redeemed herself for me after how she did Gambit so dirty last season. She didn’t hesitate at all to take on a celestial and make the ultimate sacrifice for Gambit, so she’s good in my book.
X-Men 97 season 2 ✅ 8/10
Although I still enjoyed this season and it’s got some amazing peaks like Magneto’s big moment during the ancient Egyptian arc, Polaris episode and the Rogue moments in the final few episodes, I gotta say I think this was a step down from season 1.
Felt like the pacing was all over the place here and after setting up apocalypse as the main antagonist, we had some weird filler-like episodes that just didn’t do much for me. 9 episodes went by and I can’t say it felt like much happened until the last couple episodes when stuff started happening a bit too quickly for my tastes.
It’s not a bad season by any stretch of the imagination, the production values are still great and there’s a lot of fun moments, but I just would’ve liked to have got more of.. idk, Apocalypse? The main antagonist of the season? Also, a longer final battle instead of just 8 minutes in the finale? Maybe stretch out the gambit stuff longer? Obviously, they’re working within the time constraints of 25 minutes and only 9 episodes and they want to do an arc per season, I get it, but it feels like this was an all around weaker season. Ending last season off with Gambit’s sacrifice vs this season’s sacrifice.. no comparison, just didn’t have the emotional impact or buildup for me.
Still, show looks absolutely incredible and it’s a continuation of one of the best revivals ever, so it’s worth checking out. Hopefully next season is paced better and feels a bit more coherent.
“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
They just couldn’t stand to give us a happy ending could they 😭 Kurt didn’t even hesitate to step in and pay the ultimate price for Rogue, as soon as he saw the look on her face, he knew she’d done something crazy and he’d do anything to protect his sister. Genuinely one of the most underappreciated comic book characters ever. As a Christian, I can also say he’s certainly a true follower of the word and I believe his faith will be rewarded 🥹
Surprise, surprise, my theory that Mystique was cooper ended up being right. No way they’d go two seasons without bringing my goat back. RIP(presumably) to the original Cooper. I need season 3 now and hopefully it’s a bit better paced than this one.
The Ribbon Hero ✅ 8/10
I really enjoyed this for what it was, which is a 2 hour long condensed version of a 3 year long manga run with beautiful art, great action and a lovable non gender conforming protagonist.
Inevitably, condensing a manga run into such a short runtime will lead to awkward pacing and some cuts, but I was able to follow along pretty well for the most part and still understood the message the film was trying to get across. I think it maybe could’ve done with another 25-30 minutes for more Pine x Sapphire development and Sapphire’s friends, maybe a little more on the non binary stuff, but I was satisfied with how things played out here.
The final act does feel a little flat and anti climatic compared to the build up that we see in the first 4-5 acts, but given the explanation that we got for the Negral’s abilities and existence, it kinda makes sense it played out that way. But that probably is the biggest issue facing the film.
The production values are absolutely gorgeous. I believe this is studio Outline’s first ever feature film and they did an amazing job. The storyboarding, direction and character designs courtesy of Mochizuki Kei are stellar. This is a feast for the eyes and worth a watch for the artistry of it all alone.
I am all for the recent trend of bringing back older manga with remakes and updated adaptations. Tezuka sensei’s work is timeless and to think such a progressive story was written 73 years ago in post war Japan shows you how far ahead of his time he was.

The fact that a manga featuring a non binary/gender fluid protagonist was written 70+ years ago and today you have white dudes in Nebraska crying about anime being too woke for having LGBTQ representation, lol. Reminder that anime has always and will always be “woke” and the only “tourists” are those who don’t accept that.
Ribbon Hero ED Reborn by Girls Archives, a new Japanese/Korean girl group that’ll debut in the second half of 2026 and I can tell you now, we WILL be stanning because this is a bop and their concept is so cool. I love when GGs do EDM stuff.
“Guess the only thing I’m good for is helping people” 💔💔
I’m so mad they did my boy Chorogy so bold. He wasn’t perfect, but he was trying to be a better person thanks to Sapphire and right as it seemed he had turned a corner and stopped being a coward, you do this to him smh. Very valid crashout and one of the coolest fight scenes from Sapphire, they’re so freaking cool
“Princess knight, at your service” One of the coolest and most beautiful magical girl transformation and debut sequences I’ve ever seen omg. Sapphire, the eternal gender fluid diva you are

House of the Dragon Season 3 ✅ 10/10
Not much of a surprise here, I haven’t exactly been quiet with my praise and adoration for this season. I loved season 1, liked season 2, despite the criticism it received, and I REALLY loved this latest season. I think it’ll have satisfied even the harshest of critics from last season. Perfect blend of character development, world building, drama, action and not too many weirwood dreams
It’s everything that a Game of Thrones series should be+ it arguably looks better than ever, the budget for the CGI this season definitely shone through in key moments and it feels much more polished than the first couple seasons for me. Emma D’arcy, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Gayle Rankin and everyone else involved in this season brought their A game and I found myself feeling like most of these episodes went by so quickly because of how well directed and acted it was. Brilliant stuff.
As a faithful member of the blacks, this season was HARD to watch and I definitely think they captured the moral ambiguity of the conflict better this season. I know a lot of people complained about how the show made Rhaenyra out to be the obvious good guy while the greens were cartoonishly evil, you definitely won’t be saying that after this season. I think after season 3, we can all agree the only people that are good in this series are the poor small folk who are fighting for scraps and crumbs while the Targaryens fight over a chair made out of swords.
My only complaint is Ryan Condal’s obsession with inserting his weird incest fetish into as many scenes as possible when it’s not even in the book.. but I’m excited for the final season.
“That’s a good fucking from the north” 😭
God, Ormund’s death has to be one of the most satisfying I’ve ever seen. Fucked in the ass by a knife, similar to how he’s fucked the city of tumbleton for the last few weeks AND the finishing blow from the animals he hated so much, poetic. This is what we wanted for Criston Cole’s death tbh.
Ulf killed a bunch of innocent people during his rampage, but I’ll give him credit for finally taking control of his own life and not letting Ormund abuse and talk down on him like Daemon and Rhaenyra did. Both sides only view dragon seeds as tools, so fuck em both. Brilliant strategy to recruit poor people, give them nuclear weapons and then treat them horribly, what could go wrong! Will be interesting to see how he and Hugh’s story plays out.
“Do you think life is nothing more than not being dead?” 💔💔 Helaena was one of the few legitimately good and innocent people in this story and she deserved so much better than this, but I respect her for choosing how her life ends rather than being a pawn for Rhaenyra, her mother or brothers.
She knew being a prisoner in that castle for eternity was hell and refused to put her child through that. In a way, it’s the ultimate fuck you to Alicent as well who, don’t get me wrong, was absolutely a victim, but still went along with her father and then sons’ schemes. It’s just heartbreaking that women in this world have to live their lives based on other’s whims.
Notice how Rhaenyra is more focused on the tapestry which does indeed confirm she’s going to be queen, rather than her sister’s death. Again, appearing legitimate is the only thing that matters to her and all she cares about is being validated. The way she closes the window at the end feels symbolic of her shutting the door on any sort of redemption arc and continuing to spiral into madness and tyranny in the final season.
The final few moments were so depressing because what did the battle at tumbleton even really accomplish other than killing a bunch of innocent people and wasting great fighters? Ulf’s deserted, Hugh’s lost his wife, it’s just innocent people paying the price of a petty and stupid family spat.
