The Ribbon Hero ✅ 8/10
I really enjoyed this for what it was, which is a 2 hour long condensed version of a 3 year long manga run with beautiful art, great action and a lovable non gender conforming protagonist.
Inevitably, condensing a manga run into such a short runtime will lead to awkward pacing and some cuts, but I was able to follow along pretty well for the most part and still understood the message the film was trying to get across. I think it maybe could’ve done with another 25-30 minutes for more Pine x Sapphire development and Sapphire’s friends, maybe a little more on the non binary stuff, but I was satisfied with how things played out here.
The final act does feel a little flat and anti climatic compared to the build up that we see in the first 4-5 acts, but given the explanation that we got for the Negral’s abilities and existence, it kinda makes sense it played out that way. But that probably is the biggest issue facing the film.
The production values are absolutely gorgeous. I believe this is studio Outline’s first ever feature film and they did an amazing job. The storyboarding, direction and character designs courtesy of Mochizuki Kei are stellar. This is a feast for the eyes and worth a watch for the artistry of it all alone.
I am all for the recent trend of bringing back older manga with remakes and updated adaptations. Tezuka sensei’s work is timeless and to think such a progressive story was written 73 years ago in post war Japan shows you how far ahead of his time he was.

The fact that a manga featuring a non binary/gender fluid protagonist was written 70+ years ago and today you have white dudes in Nebraska crying about anime being too woke for having LGBTQ representation, lol. Reminder that anime has always and will always be “woke” and the only “tourists” are those who don’t accept that.
Ribbon Hero ED Reborn by Girls Archives, a new Japanese/Korean girl group that’ll debut in the second half of 2026 and I can tell you now, we WILL be stanning because this is a bop and their concept is so cool. I love when GGs do EDM stuff.
“Guess the only thing I’m good for is helping people” 💔💔
I’m so mad they did my boy Chorogy so bold. He wasn’t perfect, but he was trying to be a better person thanks to Sapphire and right as it seemed he had turned a corner and stopped being a coward, you do this to him smh. Very valid crashout and one of the coolest fight scenes from Sapphire, they’re so freaking cool
“Princess knight, at your service” One of the coolest and most beautiful magical girl transformation and debut sequences I’ve ever seen omg. Sapphire, the eternal gender fluid diva you are

House of the Dragon Season 3 ✅ 10/10
Not much of a surprise here, I haven’t exactly been quiet with my praise and adoration for this season. I loved season 1, liked season 2, despite the criticism it received, and I REALLY loved this latest season. I think it’ll have satisfied even the harshest of critics from last season. Perfect blend of character development, world building, drama, action and not too many weirwood dreams
It’s everything that a Game of Thrones series should be+ it arguably looks better than ever, the budget for the CGI this season definitely shone through in key moments and it feels much more polished than the first couple seasons for me. Emma D’arcy, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Gayle Rankin and everyone else involved in this season brought their A game and I found myself feeling like most of these episodes went by so quickly because of how well directed and acted it was. Brilliant stuff.
As a faithful member of the blacks, this season was HARD to watch and I definitely think they captured the moral ambiguity of the conflict better this season. I know a lot of people complained about how the show made Rhaenyra out to be the obvious good guy while the greens were cartoonishly evil, you definitely won’t be saying that after this season. I think after season 3, we can all agree the only people that are good in this series are the poor small folk who are fighting for scraps and crumbs while the Targaryens fight over a chair made out of swords.
My only complaint is Ryan Condal’s obsession with inserting his weird incest fetish into as many scenes as possible when it’s not even in the book.. but I’m excited for the final season.
“That’s a good fucking from the north” 😭
God, Ormund’s death has to be one of the most satisfying I’ve ever seen. Fucked in the ass by a knife, similar to how he’s fucked the city of tumbleton for the last few weeks AND the finishing blow from the animals he hated so much, poetic. This is what we wanted for Criston Cole’s death tbh.
Ulf killed a bunch of innocent people during his rampage, but I’ll give him credit for finally taking control of his own life and not letting Ormund abuse and talk down on him like Daemon and Rhaenyra did. Both sides only view dragon seeds as tools, so fuck em both. Brilliant strategy to recruit poor people, give them nuclear weapons and then treat them horribly, what could go wrong! Will be interesting to see how he and Hugh’s story plays out.
“Do you think life is nothing more than not being dead?” 💔💔 Helaena was one of the few legitimately good and innocent people in this story and she deserved so much better than this, but I respect her for choosing how her life ends rather than being a pawn for Rhaenyra, her mother or brothers.
She knew being a prisoner in that castle for eternity was hell and refused to put her child through that. In a way, it’s the ultimate fuck you to Alicent as well who, don’t get me wrong, was absolutely a victim, but still went along with her father and then sons’ schemes. It’s just heartbreaking that women in this world have to live their lives based on other’s whims.
Notice how Rhaenyra is more focused on the tapestry which does indeed confirm she’s going to be queen, rather than her sister’s death. Again, appearing legitimate is the only thing that matters to her and all she cares about is being validated. The way she closes the window at the end feels symbolic of her shutting the door on any sort of redemption arc and continuing to spiral into madness and tyranny in the final season.
The final few moments were so depressing because what did the battle at tumbleton even really accomplish other than killing a bunch of innocent people and wasting great fighters? Ulf’s deserted, Hugh’s lost his wife, it’s just innocent people paying the price of a petty and stupid family spat.
Perhaps the biggest indication of how far Rhaenyra has fallen is using her family’s sacred story, the song of ice and fire, as a bargaining tactic to make the common folk support her. This was meant to be something only the heir would know so as to prepare themselves for their duty, not just for anyone to hear. Again, showing how Rhaenyra doesn’t care about anything other than the simple act of sitting the throne and being seen as legitimate.
I told y’all a few weeks ago that Daemon filling her head with the prince that was promised propaganda would come back to bite her in the ass and it has started. I know he wanted to motivate her after Jace’s death, but that was absolutely not the best thing to tell someone who’s mentally unstable. Now everyone’s paying the consequences.
This is NOT the queen I supported in seasons 1-2. I’m not saying the Greens would be better, but I feel for the common folk who are caught in the middle of this.
“All the things you care about are ugly”
What a beautifully succinct way to sum up what Rhaenyra has become. Her obsession with APPEARING as a legitimate ruler has turned her into a tyrant. Helaena talking about the beetles might seem random, but it just shows how she loves and appreciates every aspect of the kingdom and King’s Landing whereas the only thing Rhaenyra cares about is the iron throne and her grip on power. She doesn’t even really care about her subjects anymore hence why she appointed a treasurer to be a scapegoat for their complaints, so she certainly wouldn’t be paying attention to the finer details.
Even now, she doesn’t care about Helaena as a sister or making sure she eats other than to maintain she and her unborn son as prisoners. Everything about her has an ulterior motive and is twisted at this point. She even looks twisted and evil now.
Years of being invalidated and looked down on have made her a monster and as Helaena said, Viserys would truly hate what his daughter has become. He wasn’t a great king, but for the most part he was a decent man who loved his people and believed in serving them.
“It was your fault. It’s how you’ve treated those who served you”
Oh my god I’m loving this trend of people giving the Targaryens reality checks this season. Aegon a few weeks ago and now Baela to Rhaenyra today. Been waiting on this for a long time because it drives me crazy how horribly she’s treated Corlys, the dragon seeds, Mysaria and so many others. Whenever I brought it up before, people would make excuses for Rhaenyra and I do empathize with her being dealt a shitty hand, but she has done a lot of bad on her own too. Now everyone’s waking up.
The fucking audacity to even consider not saving corlys when you wouldn’t even be in that damn castle if not for him?? He gave up EVERYTHING, including his wife to put you there and you wouldn’t even legitimatize his sons and now you’d leave him to die when he was out fighting YOUR battles??
And as for Jace, even that was indirectly on she and Daemon because if they’d paid Rhaena any damn attention, she wouldn’t have even felt pressed to go after a dragon and contribute to the battle, but it’s everyone’s fault but hers ofc. Some divine fate conspiring against you instead of looking at your own faults. No wonder the iron throne rejected her a couple episodes ago.
Rhaenyra confirmed as a bottom omg, I’m mad af I didn’t watch this live last week, y’all fake af for not telling me we got peak yuri😭
It definitely feels like Rhaenyra’s safe space is now with Mysaria instead of Daemon after the sheepstealer debacle which is a recipe for disaster because Mysaria is now thinking she’ll never be seen as more than a whore like her friend told her earlier so she’ll probably lead Rhaenyra further down the path of ruin.
Like no, you’re absolutely not fit to rule right now and she needs to be told that, not encouraged! It almost reminds me of Shinji’s famous masturbation scene in Evangelion which was meant to symbolize him feeling he had no control over anything in his life, likewise, Rhaenyra here feels the only escape she has right now from perceived betrayals from Daemon and her losing her grip on power is sexual gratification.
Also notice the imagery of Mysaria looking down on Rhaenyra as if she’s now the one with all the power and Rhaenyra is a scared, horny puppy desperate for love and validation. Shit is about to get really bad in the finale.

“It’s time to be the hero you pretend to be or admit you’re the villain”
Holy shit is that Jimmy of all people I’m hearing with one of the coldest lines in the series so far?? Ever since he apologized to Kara, he’s been a way better character lol.
The concept of creating a world ending threat and then running away when it’s about to end the world 😭
This season is a really nice follow up to last year’s Superman film as Lex has now been called out in each for being the very thing he claims Superman and the Kryptonians are. Like yea, we created an evil Superman just a couple weeks ago that went awful, now we’ll make an even stronger being that totally won’t go rogue and try to destroy the world. What could go wrong!?
It’ll be interesting to see what sort of character development Lex has as a result of this
The way you can see how much trauma and pressure Jon and Lara have had to deal with in their timeline and this scene of Lara struggling to make a decision just reminds you they’re both still kids being thrust into a very difficult situation.
I’m sure Lois in the future wants to connect with them and make them feel better, but with Clark gone and a world ending threat out there, she just doesn’t have the ability to express herself in the way she’d like, but present Lois can say the words for her. The fact it’s the same sort of pep talk Lara got before they left confirms the same kind and loving Lois exists in the future, she’s just been battle hardened and then you have the fact it’s already usually harder for moms to connect with sons since they crave male guidance and role models!
Kara has become the universal Jonathan whisperer in every timeline😭 she’s that cool aunt that your parents send to talk to you when they can’t get through to you because she just understands you.
As someone who used to be filled with rage and has been through a lot herself, she knows first hand what it’s like to be on your own like Jonathan feels in both of these timelines now and she’s always able to talk some sense into him.
I really feel for Jonathan because Lois in the future probably talks about Clark a lot and makes him out to be some mythological figure, not because he’s perfect, but because he embodies all that’s good in the world, never gives up and she misses him. That comes across as making him seem perfect though which obviously gave Jonathan a lot of self esteem issues because every boy just wants to measure up to their dad!
