The way each couples’ white day gift exchange is so emblematic of their relationships. Tani having quietly done his research to pick out things Miyu would like, Nishi being giddy to finally see her bf after school and the two of them being shy and awkward initially before Yamada’s honesty and excitement about the future breaks the ice
Then Taira and Azuma’s chill ride home where Taira just blurts out the sweetest and coolest stuff effortlessly! This is why Azuma fell for him, even if he doesn’t know how cool he is, she does and she’ll stop at nothing to help him realize it
3 different ships moving at their own paces that we all love 🥹
My favorite thing about Taizuma is how Azuma is so desperate to help Azuma through his problems and help him see the amazing person she sees in him, but she does it in a way that’s totally in-line with their established relationship. So instead of getting all flustered, stuttering and doing the usual anime tropes, she makes jokes and tries to get him to open up to her so she can give advice. She’s such a beautiful person who’s determined to meet the person she likes where he is 🥹
The way she got so upset on his behalf when she found out about people making fun of his laugh back in elementary school too, she’s basically already in overprotective girlfriend mode! Taira doesn’t realize it yet, but when he helped her through the situation with her fake ass friends, it completely changed her life and made him the coolest guy in the world to her, and she’s determined to make him realize that. Notice how she made him comfortable enough to laugh in front of her at the end as well. Slowly, but surely, we’re seeing him take those steps.
Cannot believe we’re really starting the final arc of beatbreak and never got another OP lmao
So if you think about, Kyo owes pretty much everything good that’s ever happened in his life to Tomoro’s brother because if he didn’t meet Asuka, he’d never have met Cougarmon/become a cleaner.
No wonder he was so hell bent on taking Tomoro in and keeping him on the right side of the tracks like Asuka did for him when he was getting in trouble at the orphanage. You can actually see a lot of Tomoro in Kyo as a child as well! Both rebellious and uber aggressive because they struggled to express their emotions.
Even as a kid, you can see Kyo was a digimon rights activist as well, which is cool. We love a consistently woke person lol.
So all routes lead back to Asuka. Not only was he the key to Kyo’s entire life, but also Wong’s Shangri La plan. Out of all the evil shit Wong’s done, bringing Asuka back as a puppet and making him fight his little brother who he’d kill to protect and would do anything to ensure was happy is beyond vile. There’s just no way this show can end without Wong dying a horrific death idc man.
The look on Tomoro’s face as he goes from pure elation to utter dejection when he realizes Asuka’s not really there, but being mind controlled, absolutely broke me. And let’s not forget poor Heliosboamon as well who’s clearly in a tremendous amount of pain as you hear those screams!!
Cannot believe we only have 7 episodes left of Beatbreak man I’m not ready for this to end at all, seems like there is so much more story they could tell here, but I’m going to trust Toei to execute the ending well and give all our faves a happy ending. I could’ve done with 60+ episodes of this crew though! My favorite cast in Digimon history idc.
Oh my gosh hair down Tennoji is sooo pretty, thank you for this meal😍
Really nice to get an episode almost entirely focused on best girl, got to see a different side of her today and developed an even deeper appreciation for her character. I have always liked how perceptive and emotionally intelligent she is, so her clocking Itsuki had a bit of imposter syndrome being around so many rich and elite kids didn’t surprise me too much.
But seeing her home life made me think about how lonely she must have been before Itsuki showed up at school. Basically this whole time she’s wanted to form a connection with Hinako who she sees as a rival, and she was unable to do so until Itsuki got them in contact. He’s basically opened an entirely new world up for her which is really sweet.
Wouldn’t be a romcom with rich girls if we didn’t have the classic fiancé gimmick. She’s totally gonna go after Itsuki now won’t she? She already has started to notice her feelings for him, so things should get really interesting here as Hinako is also realizing hers lol. I love both girls, so when that rejection inevitably happens, I’m gonna be really sad. Poly ending is the only way!
One of the oddest anime tropes is the heroine’s mom getting in the bath or being freaky with the MC when they’re a minor, like girl, what’re you doing??? and your husband’s down the hall?? I know she ended up having a bathing suit on and it’s her house, but still, weird.
I’m glad Yuzu is smart enough to realize that she probably doesn’t love Reiya yet and just likes what he represents for her, an escape from her abusive family and a new start.
It’s impossible to really love someone that you barely know, all their conversations revolve around shallow shit like him wanting to kiss her and flirty shit instead of the real nitty gritty convos you need to have to know if you really vibe and like a person. Obviously she thinks he’s hot and a nice person for the most part, but he’s so aggressive she’s had almost no time to actually examine her feelings because she went from meeting him to moving in in like 2 hours😭 and they’re rarely apart.
Even though Sakurako is about to start shit, I hope this arc allows Yuzu to grow as an individual and sort her feelings. As for Sakurako, idk why these people keep trying to mess with Reiya’s fiance when he’s established as the top dog in this universe both socially and strength wise.. if Sakurako bullies Yuzu out of the engagement, Reiya will find out and it’ll be over for her.. even if she gets her to call off the engagement of her own volition, Reiya will find out she’s been pressured, so again, what’s the point lol
The concept of stalking someone until they fall in love with you..
I’m sorry but Touko and Nyankichi backstory had the opposite effect on me and made me hate their relationship because what do you mean buddy stalked her for months until they realized they liked the same series and then Touko falls for him?? Being rewarded by pulling the girl for doing this is so weird to me.
The whole sequence gives me the ick because Nyankichi and demons in general don’t even view human women as sentient beings, it’s just all “me, me, me” with them. They need you to increase their demonic power so you now belong to them. You become a possession rather than a person and that’s so gross. I was hoping this series would develop beyond that, but if this is what the ideal endgame relationship is.. it’s over.
Even Touko’s rationale for falling for Nyankichi makes no sense, she clearly just liked the attention he gave her and when that went away, she got jealous and upset and had a little breakdown, but that doesn’t mean she loves HIM, she loves what he brought to her life, which is attention.
“And I expect gratitude” no one told you to buy those gifts?? She didn’t ask for anything?? I’m sorry but their relationship feels so hollow and uncomfortable tbh the only thing I like is that Reiya got Yuzu out of her family house, but I don’t like him as a person at all. He has zero understanding of how human emotions, connection and love work.
The whole kiss in exchange for favors thing is cringe and he views her as an object or prize that he just has to go out and buy things for and she’ll be happy. She’s a whole ass human being who had her own passions and interests before she met you and that’s all been taken away, turning her into a bird in a cage.
Her entire existence revolves around him now and that’s so unhealthy. If she’s not at work with him, she’s at home waiting on him.. it was ok for a couple episodes, but I’m gonna need some shit to shake up here.
Nah I knew Takamichi was gay af for Reiya, but I didn’t think he’d go back and talk shit about Yuzu behind she and his master’s back to Reiya’s ex, hello?? For a dude that prides himself on being loyal, this is one of the grimiest things you can do because what good could possibly come of this?
I know they had to eventually tell Sakurako that the engagement was off, but it’s the manner in which he did it, as if Yuzu is some negative stain on Reiya’s legacy and he needs to be saved which clearly invites Sakurako to start scheming.
Realistically, no one will be good enough for Reiya if it’s not Takamichi because he’s gay as hell for Reiya and has been since they met😭 makes me wonder what a BL version of this series would look like
They talk about this damn London office like it’s the one piece atp, are we ever gonna see and learn more about that part of the world?? 😭That should bring everything together and explain Ruruka’s plan, now that Decchi is here hopefully it won’t be too long before we get answers. I imagine he’ll be connected to the real big bad here, I don’t think Usonoir in his current form will be too much of a threat going forward lol.
I love how he just trolls Usonoir constantly as well after months of seeing Usonoir boss the phantom thieves around
Kinda disappointed the animation was so mediocre for our first Arcana Shadow vs Eclair fight, feels like this should’ve been one of them moments where they gave us a little sakuga, but given how good eclair’s reveal looked, can’t be too upset.
I’m even more curious about Ruruka’s plan here now that she’s mentioned “defeating” Eclair, surely symbolic right? Hopefully now that Agein has showed up, things will start to become more clear.
“Will everyone see things my way after we defeat the Jin?” [X to doubt]
What I’m gathering is that Ogedei seems to be a good man, which makes an awful Kha’an and ruler. To be successful in this job, you need to be cutthroat, cruel and ambitious for conquest and Ogedei just doesn’t have that mean streak. He’s a very soft spoken, thoughtful and intelligent guy, which could be seen as weak to some. Giving priceless earrings to the fruit vendor, providing infrastructure to protect merchants and ensure continuity of trade and economic development.. pretty liberal leader as far as the mongols are concerned.
I’m sure this is going to be a big issue in the story going forward.
So this story just gonna come down to beautiful women fighting over the fate of an empire isn’t it lol?
Sitara’s getting so good at this whole planning to destroy the Mongols from within thing, it’s a little scary. She’s so calculating and methodical now, a far cry from the scared and powerless girl we met at the start of the show. She’s now the one making the moves in the shadows and plotting her revenge and what better way than to make the enemy tear themselves apart? Work smarter, not harder. I love that look in her eyes, she’s so cool.
On the opposite side, you have Moge who will presumably be a foil for Sitara for the foreseeable future, working to keep the Mongols together. I wonder if her position would change if she found out what Töregene and Sitara had endured at the hands of the Mongols? She seems like she comes from a relative position of comfort. Then again, she didn’t really have any problem with Tolui saying he’d starve the Jin, so..
Yea so you can already see the potential cracks in the Mongol hierarchy that Sitara and Toregene will be able to exploit on display at the war council. Even though Ogedei is meant to be the Great Kha’an, Tolui stole the show with his plan to take on the Jin dynasty, which I’m really excited to see play out btw as it’ll set up a period of Mongol rule in China.
But it seems like this situation isn’t tenable long term. People will have different visions for the empire, Ogedei kinda seems content to start modernizing and building cities and sorta resting on his father’s accomplishments, while Tolui wants to continue conquering the known world. These things usually don’t end too well. Also brings into question who’s really the best fit to lead.
I knew Granville was coming, but I didn’t expect the big battle to start so soon! The irony of Granville blaming Rimuru for Maribel’s death when he’s working with the guy who killed her. Also mind you she attacked Rimuru first?? And using otherworlders as meat shields because he knows Rimuru won’t kill innocent people literally disproves the entire argument that Tempest is a threat to the world. If you don’t bother Rimuru, he won’t bother you.
It’s clear Granville don’t even have a consistent ideology anymore and is just following this path he feels he locked himself into and can’t stray from because this makes no sense. It is nice to have an enemy who doesn’t just try to brute force a fight against Rimuru and actually goes for his emotional weaknesses like killing innocents, makes things much more interesting since atp very few people can stand against him directly.
