au in which the phantom ate the moon rock instead of launching it into space
[7:16 PM] ghost poaster: theyre having a sleepover and talking abt feelings [7:16 PM] cryptid mod: put the legy up [7:16 PM] ghost poaster: the phantom is not taking this very seriously
okay hear me out, about me overthinking the phantom overthinking fursonas
the phantom gets close to bobby fulbright to learn about his mannerisms, lifestyle, personal preferences and habits, so they pose as whoever and befriend him, right? bobby is easy to befriend anyway so it doesnt really matter what kind of character they play for this, so they start out with a kind of generic and mild mannered persona and then eventually tune it more to fulbright so they get along even better
anyway, at some point, fulbright designs the phantom a fursona, because bobby is a giant furry, probably a fursuiter even, and he’s like “if you have a fursona too i can draw our fursonas together!!” and he’s pushed them to make one before but they just keep saying they can’t draw and arent creative (an excuse, they can draw perfectly fine, but they just wouldn’t know how to design some sort of animal-person based on themselves), so bobby takes things into his own hands and makes them one himself
there's a short comic with fulbright and his fish called "area man feeds fish; thinks about justice" what you asked for maybe a part one thing but fulbright definitely has a fish and the phantom definitely takes ridiculously good care of it after fulbright is gone like upgrades it from a bowl to a three foot tank all for itself with ugly rainbow pebbles and everything.
i have seen that one, actually! ill queue it to this blog once i have an opportunity
if you select a wrong option somewhere (iirc while pressing them at the space center), fakebright tells a story about having a fish called love. its probably not a true story, but it would have some pretty funny implications if it was. either fulbright had fish that fakebright adopted and took care of later, or the phantom, after assuming fulbrights identity, decided to get pet fish
either way, we dont get a lot of realbright stuff from canon, so id like to think fulbright really does own a fish (and likely does not know much about fish care if it managed to eat all his other fish). the phantom probably knows even less about fish care than realbright so it would be very likely actually that theyd study up and be a much better fish parent than the original (although id like to think neither of them would keep a fish in a bowl)
someone draw bobby fulbright taking care of his fat goldfish and talking to her about his day and how much he loves her and about what hes gonna cook for dinner like she can even hear what hes saying and the phantom begrudgingly taking care of her later on and venting to her and talking about fulbright precisely because shes a fish and has no ears so it doesnt matter what they say to her anyway
i apologize that there's a lot more phantom centered content on this blog than fulbright centered stuff... i love fulbright more than anyone in the whole world but 99% of fulbright content is either blackbright or just like, just solo pictures of fulbright smiling which are nice but not very, you know, specific, considering plot! i wish there was more art and content about fulbright as his own person (like really specifically fulbright, in a way you can distinguish him from the phantom), what he was like before he died, etc in which he is treated as a little more than just a (tragic) love interest for blackquill
a mistake,
