any thoughts on Ghost Soldier from the New 52?
Great design and cool concept. Giving Superman a foe with phasing powers is one of those "why did no one think of this sooner?" ideas.
He would make a good permanent addition to the Metropolis Special Crimes Unit. Pak made it clear he was an anti-villain at worst, Leonard Sawyer was willing to negotiate with Supes despite being under orders to kill him. Have him flee to America, having gotten tired of being treated as a weapon by Harrow and his handlers, where he gets a job at the MPD in the Special Crimes Unit. Start him off as willing to work alongside Atomic Skull, like Skull he doesn't really like or trust Superman, but the difference is he actually cares about civilians and thus will butt heads with Skull over tactics that infringe on rights or put innocents in harm's way. Ghost Soldier exists in a gray area between Maggie Sawyer's pro-Superman good faction in the MPD, and Skull's anti-Superman bad faction. Place him as being against Superman and against taking orders from the megacorps, and you have the makings of an interesting third faction.
