Here's my hot take on the recent Ghost and Pals situation: Yes, I do think in some cases you can separate art from the artist and use death of the author......
However when the artist uses their art to actively hurt people like Ghost did, then you can't. I know it's hard to let go of a creator/artist you used to look up too, but the people they've hurt are more important then their art.
Also, there are plenty of songs and producers out there who make way better music than Ghost has ever done, and that deserves more recognition.
This year, about three creators I used to respect and whose works I enjoyed turned out to be creeps, assholes, or both.
When letting their works go was very hard, despite how much they meant to me in the past, I think about this one Jake quote that unironically is comforting to me in these situations.
I know it's hard and easier said than done to let go of stories and characters you were and still are attached to, but holding on to them when they were used to hurt people does more harm than good in my humble opinion. There are always brighter pastures out there to explore.
Also, please don't harass people who still support Ghost's works but not Ghost themselves. Either block them or give them alternatives to Ghost.
I made a playlist for alternatives to Ghost's music, ranging from all kinds of things. Also, it's a collaborative playlist, so you can add to it too!
