wyll seems to be not the first person that zee loves, but the first one that actually makes him feel safe and reciprocated. moreover, the scar on his face remembers him of the last time he loved someone — and all he got was a deturpation that will stay on him forever.

he once loved being told he was beautiful. he was aware of his appearance and felt flattered of all the attention he received. but as time passed, something changed. the attentions felt invasive. the compliments suffocating. from the lips of the man who said that he loved him, he heard that that was his best quality — and not much more. not the intelligence he thought he owned, not the magic that naturally flowed through his veins despite his incapacity to channel it properly. not even his talent in persuasion. his face, and nothing more.

wyll was the first one to actually give credit to zemon for his intellect. and the first and only one zemon has ever asked to never call him beautiful.

i think the “i’d give the world to you” vs “i’d burn the world down for you” dualism just hits different when the love in question is of a parent for their child and wyll and zemon hella fit the dynamic with lily.

i don’t think i empathize enough about how zee is attached to lily especially for a trauma response to his own abandonment and the fear to become like his mother. he barely shows himself publicly with the passing time for a number of reasons but be 100% sure that wherever lily goes, at least nimbus will follow.

being the “hero of baldur’s gate” did not do him good, actually. he tried his best to not rot in all the mistakes he did out of spite — pre-tadpole questionable choices and, between others, studying necromancy just for the personal revenge to prove of actually being very good at something potentially dangerous.

wyll and lily are his everything, the only thing that actually keep him alive and well. without them, zemon’s epilogue would have been really different despite his initial desire of wanting to to good for once. and he still fears the day lily will be old enough for him to confess his necromancy activity and the reason why he wants her to learn radiant magic so desperately

he started his necromancy journey because he fucked around and found out — quite literally. since he acquired his total freedom he just couldn’t stop putting his nose in things that do not involved him and he ended up being a little too curious about necromancy — and being a shadow sorcerer it was kinda an easy task for him

he’s absolutely a disaster in battle. he prefers to avoid it with words if he can, but when he can’t, he just leaves the battlefield as a wreck. his tail is often involved for some reason so wyll made it an habit to carry zemon to camp to not let him wander around jack sparrow style

kudos to shadowheart for unbreaking this tiefling’s bones so many times

at the beginning bro was REALLY spending his time after an evening drink studying wyll head to toe to understand if he was lying or something (he later learned he was just falling really hard for the hero but was in denial megaera style)
