He always loathed having to wake up. Sleeping with her in his arms was one of his most favorite things. The way they so easily melted into each other. Her face buried into his neck, his hands holding her tightly, fingers tracing along her curves even in his sleep.

Having to wake from that was especially awful.

Fingers would trail up his arms, before curling into his hair. Goosebumps litter his skin as she shifts in his grip, lips pressing against his neck softly. “--...Hey.” Her voice was soft, and muffled against his neck. But it was enough to stir him from sleep, though he was too stubborn to move.

“Come on, get up.”

Eyes crack open, even with all the sleep, they still looked sunken with near permanent bags under. Arms tighten around her and her buried his face further into one of the many pillows. “No.” His voice was groggy, and cracked a bit as he mumbled, earning a smile from his lover.

Her fingers tangle further into his mess of hair, massaging his scalp lightly. Her smile again his skin widened as he groaned in response, nails dragging down her back lightly. “Mm...Cut that out.--” Lips twitch upwards in a smile as his eyes open a bit more. “Trying to sleep, you know.”  

“Oh~? Did I tire you out~?”

Soon after she spoke, his grip on her body loosened and he rolled onto his back, “I’m not tired.” hissing in a breath as the sheets of the bed rubbed against the fresh scratches. “But you did do a number on my back...And my neck. I’m thinking you enjoy seeing me bleed.” His remark drew a laugh from her, and she shifted to look at him, wrapping the blanket around her more as she leaned her head against the pillow.

“Mm...I might. It’s not like you were gentle either~” He chuckled softly, one hand extending to brush her curly hair from her face, and caress her check lightly. The two stare at one another, their gazes soft, and the tiniest of smiles curling at their lips.

“Good morning, love~”

“Good morning, dear~”
