Oh and to address the issue of the abuse of gays, there's only so much that Putin can feasibly DO to even try and stop it (which I don't know if is even a priority, so clue me in on that). Much how there's only so much Barack Obama can do to stop all of the school shootings and stabbings and bombings and whathaveyou. Domestic social issues are not easy to tackle in a political manner
