[PHOTOBOOTH] - All kinds of silly accessories have been laid out on a table, with a kamera and tripod set up to document all sorts of sea-side memories.

[LIFEGUARD] - Someone has to be there to dive in and save the less skilled swimmers! And it looks like your skills are quite urgently needed.

[S'MORES] - A classic treat, easily made in the bonfires that crop up as the sun begins to set, and perfect for sharing.

True to the reflexes of a seasoned warrior, Clorinde moves like a flash of lightning-- she raises an arm to deflect the blows with a pool noodle of her own, brandishing her water gun with the other. A split second passes, her breath comes to a standstill, and she fires in the moment that her body freezes.

The eye of a sharpshooter is unparalleled, and the stream of water strikes true; right between the eyes, undoubtedly a lethal shot were it anything else.

She was undefeated in the Court, after all. Losing a pool noodle battle simply wouldn't do.

'...How strange...' The archon stares, bewildered, at the food that's been handed to her. It was like nothing she had ever seen before-- two graham crackers, chocolate...and then something gooey in between. When she pokes it, it's hot, almost molten.

It almost reminds her of mochi...

Slowly she brings the confection to her lips, taking one small bite-- only for her eyes to light up as the taste of pure sugar hits her tongue.

neither by free will nor true purpose, APONIA HAS BEEN TRANSPORTED TO THESE ISLANDS ENTIRELY BY ACCIDENT; or at least, she has no memory of traveling here. confused, but certainly dressed for the occasion because of her realm's simulation, she's hardly resistant to the opportunity set before her, and will happily take this chance to enjoy being human again, even if briefly.

many will find her simply lounging on a beach chair with her eyes closed, helping children with their every adventurous endeavor ( she's incredibly weak to them ), or floating above the sea to peer within it ( strange behavior, but she's unsure about venturing beneath the waves ) .

alongside the ask meme, i'll be choosing a few prompts from the june commission board to volunteer aponia for, though i'm easily tempted by other prompts if those catch your attention instead. to start off, the thread cap will likely be kept at three unless the interaction is from an ask spilling over. please heed the interaction notes on this blog's pinned post for any curiosities as to mentions of her eccentric "impressions".

GHOST STORIES :: aponia is anything but a stranger to the art of storytelling, even if her larger audiences were once the children under her care and not others near her age. even still, tales of horror can't be that hard over dulling drinks and the right atmosphere. because of her eerily calm composure, attempts to scare each other may even become a game of tallies; whoever's story manages to startle the other into physically reacting wins. bring your best stories, though, since she's a hard nut to crack.

LONELY MOUNTAINTOP CATHEDRAL :: as a lady of the cloth, she'd be interested wholly in the building itself and whatever mysteries of lore may be hidden within it, not the climb. plus, aponia wouldn't subject herself to climbing, since she can fly / hover, so the interaction would likely occur immediately at the top, with a reference to her pity - watching your muse climb the mountain if they can't traverse like she can.

SHIP WRECKAGE :: despite being entirely interested in the depths of the sea and the various remnants of wreckage around the beach, aponia is less enthusiastic about diving below the surface to sate these curiosities. we can form this thread differently because of this. whether aponia sees / senses your muse in danger while exploring a wreckage and decides to lend a hand, or it's the opposite, and the second she's getting comfortable underwater, something goes amiss and your muse is pulled into the adventure abruptly! whichever cheeses us more.

Ego thrums thoughtful fingers along the little stand's counter, surveying her options with a merry hum. She offers the boy opposite her-- the attendant, evidently-- a smile, though she's not entirely sure he notices. Poor kid, probably stuck in some low paying summer job when he'd rather be out splashing in the water.

No matter.

"What's your favorite?" Songlike, a harmless question, but she does not wait for its answer. "I'll have whatever it is, kay? Oh! And one for you, too. On me~"

Quick and easy and utterly foolproof: she gets an answer without him having to say it to her, and she may just earn a smile back! And if not, well, at least she tried.

In exchange, of course, she offers him what is certainly more than an adequate number of coins (not that she counted, that was someone else's problem.) "Oh, and you can keep the change ♪"

Solstice Plotting Call

// Wriothesley is here on a much-needed vacation. The only problem is that he can't sit still even when he's supposed to be relaxing. I've signed him up for both Harpastum and Requiem, but I'd like to snag a couple of additional interactions this month too. I won't be reblogging the ask meme, but I'll send some as ideas strike.

All threads will ideally be less than 250 words per reply. I'm in the Discord server for this event, so ideally DM me there, but I'll answer IMs and replies on this post as well.

Commission Board

Wet Sheep: Wriothesley working on his day off? More likely than you think. We can do one of two scenarios for this thread: 1) Wriothesley has been roped into the task of dunking sheep by an NPC who's noticed that he's been restless. This batch isn't exactly docile, however, and one sheep takes off and nearly runs over your muse, who's just passing by. It's time to go wrangle that sheep, who proves to be much more wily than either your muse or Wriothesley expected. Or 2) your muse is already dunking sheep for their own reason, and they call for Wriothesley's help when he comes by. He won't say no. Make it a competition and so many sheep will be sheared by the end of the day.

Abandoned cathedral: Wriothesley can't settle anywhere unless he's thoroughly investigated his surroundings - and spooky church on the hill? Definitely suspicious. I'm more interested in exploring the cathedral itself, but I'd also be content with a thread where Wriothesley has to sweettalk coach a less physically inclined muse to accompany him and they never make it to the cathedral.

Shipwreck: Living under water means that Wriothesley has to be a pretty strong swimmer and diver. I'm thinking both of our muses are independently exploring the wreckage when yours gets stuck on something and things take a turn for the worse. Especially when some dangerous-looking sea creatures start lurking closer.

Boat Race: Wriothesley has a bit of a competitive streak and loves to make bets. Our muses can either be watching a race, where RNG determines who comes out on top, or they can be the racers themselves. (alternatively, a four-way thread with two spectators and two racers could be fun as well)

About Wriothesley at the beach

He's dressed down for once, although with boots and long pants, he looks more prepared to go for a hike than take a swim Fontainians swim fully dressed, after all Loose button-down shirt over a tank for the top. Those scars all over his body aren't exactly proud mementos, so he's still got them mostly covered.

You'll find him doing one activity or another (beach volleyball, digging a hole, taking a swim, tending the fire). It's been a while since he's had a leisurely beachside vacation, but he's from the nation of hydro, so he does seem right at home here.

He's hard to track down though, because he won't stay in any one place for long, and the mysterious peace of the islands has him a little on edge.

Younger muses can get him to do just about anything they want. He has a soft spot for children.

Whether you came here on purpose or ended up here by mistake, there is no denying it: you've found yourself in the very epicenter of Summer. A handful of islands surrounded by nothing but glittering blue ocean as far as the eye can see, fully stocked with everything a person could need for the perfect vacation! It's so wonderful that you could almost forget that you don't know how to get home. After all, who would want to?

This island happens to be filled with some rather peculiar critters. Sheep, rams, many a fluffy beast that are mostly harmless, yet there is something special about them. Their wool is incredibly soft, and seems to radiate with something… otherworldly. Any attempt at cutting them with a normal blade leads to said blade becoming utterly, incomprehensibly dented; completely ruined. However, when wet, it seems to come right off in clumps, and it dries quite easily. It looks like it’s time to submerge a couple of sheep.

As darkness creeps overhead, the waves seem to calm. Foamy water rocks back and forth as a pit is made and dry wood is propped against itself. A match, or a pyro vision, or some gas and a lighter, whatever way it may be: a fire is cast into the pit. As the wood crackles against itself, charring over time, an age-old hobby feels like a great way to kill time; ghost stories. Share your scariest story around the bonfire while enjoying some great treats and each other's company.

A large mountain found at the edge of the island seems to have some kind of cathedral at the top. This presents a very clear opportunity for those more physically inclined. Steep as it may be, the face of the mountain looks perfect for a climb, but it’s dangerous to go alone. Grab a friend and see if you can make it to the top.

Around the coast of the island there are some very obvious pieces of wreckage. Crumbling masts and chipped hulls poke out from the water, indicating that these fallen ships aren’t that deep below the surface. While seagulls perch and crabs scuttle about, the chance for treasure is alluring. The dive isn’t deep, but who knows what creatures may circle these waters.

Nothing like the feeling of wind in your hair while on the open seas. These islands have several waveriders in near pristine condition, and there seem to be some buoys marked along the coast of the entire island. It looks like some previous visitors made a race track, though without them here, it sits unused. A boat race seems to be in order.
