Behind the front desk of the visitor center, Beau was sipping a Monster and talking to themself. "Alright," they said, fingers drumming against the side of the drink, "brand new job, and I'm gonna do fine. Better than fine. I'm gonna do great. I'm not going to forget to tell the visitors the rules of the park, I'm not going to say the wrong thing, I'm not going to talk too much... Well, I'll probably talk too much. Maybe I'll even make some new friends!" Their monologue was interrupted by a light jingle that alerted them to someone coming in the front door.
They quickly stashed the energy drink under the desk. They began, "Welcome to the visitor center! Can I help you--" but stopped when they looked up and noticed it was a coworker. They smiled brightly. "Oh hey! How's it going? It looks like pretty nice weather out there! Your day going well? Mine's alright so far, glad to see another... Well, what's your job? Oh, I'm Beau by the way! Nice to meet you!"
