to those looking for context:

colton and @bornfiighter have a son and daughter said kids share one brain cell between them and get into shenanigans with lee and jonas of @spiriitum (mainly lee) we have found this relationship to be perfectly reenacted by mark and ethan

so courtney is mark; connor is ethan; lee is either tyler or amy (depending on the situation) hilarity ensues

WAS HE REALLY GOING TO TELL CONNOR THE TRUTH ABOUT HOW HE AND CORA MET? How they fell for each other? A story of ABUSE and TRAGEDY that had caused them both to cross paths and learn to care for each other after having spent SO LONG without love that the two of them had either found themselves utterly HOPELESS or (in his case) OBLIVIOUS.

“I-I... met your mother a-after a shift at... F-- Freddy’s. She was, uh... CURIOUS a-about the MISSING CHILDREN incident, and I... had some answers. SOME. We BONDED. Over... SHITTY PARENTS, of a-all things...” He couldn’t help but SMILE, though the details of his father’s ABUSE were still traumatizing to this day. It was just a bit FUNNY to him that this had all started with--

“We’d... b-be on the phone f-- for HOURS. Sh-She’d... sneak into my room through the WINDOW d-during the day when y-- your GRANDFATHER was at work. A-- And one day, I just...” He was sure it was clear to Connor that he wasn’t the BEST with words.

“I-I told her JUST HOW MUCH SHE MEANT T-TO ME... A-And I guess, it just... took off from there. We never put a LABEL on it because, w-- well, your mom was... SCARED. And I-I was CONFUSED. But our feelings for each other w-were STRONG ENOUGH th-- that we didn’t really NEED ONE.”

Colton paused, looking over at his son with a knowing smile, reaching over to ruffle the boy’s hair. “Just so you kn-- know, kiddo... I-I don’t think you h-have much to WORRY ABOUT, i-if you’re asking out the p-- person I THINK YOU ARE.

Connor, YOU SHOULD SEE THE WAY SHE LOOKS AT YOU... You’ll be fine.”

Jumping onto the couch, still keeping Connor ‘protected’ Colton raised an arm up in Cora’s direction, waving it frantically. “N-- Nooooooo! Cora, h-how... how COULD YOU--?”

The loose ball bounces its way across the room and into Colton’s hand. He tosses it in the air a few times and catches it, a little smirk on his face as he looks over to where Connor is standing. “Th-- That was... d-definitely AWESOME a-and, uh... FUN.” Holding the ball between two fingers, Colton tilted his head slightly to the side, an eyebrow raising. “Y-You, um... w-want this... back?”
