I also know an artist who draw Odysseus a lot, I follow her on tiktok, their name is Wolfy” and I scrambled to show her some of your Jesus bc she was raised catholic. She liked it a lot

Okay I legit disliked reading the Iliad for no real reason it was so hard to get through even tho I enjoyed the content but the odyssey is so much fun to read I had to read the whole this in two weeks for a class and I got excited and finished it in three

lol i'm pleasantly relieved and also kinda surprised at the amount of people who have actually said that they didn't like reading the Iliad! it has such a big name so i kinda just figured everyone would be gushing all over it, but it's like.. nah we all know it's a drag to read, but we appreciate its importance and beauty nonetheless..? it's wholesome. the honesty is refreshing.

i think that the Iliad is exhausting chiefly because of the amount of lengthy war descriptions there are. at least, that's how it was for me. there wasn't enough plot.. it was mostly just the guys yelling at each other and then someone's brains being squeezed outta their head lol

i wanted to read the Odyssey.. i actually started it some time ago. but i think it's not a book you can pick up, put down, then pick up again a little while later because you forget where you're up to. so i think if i do read it, it'll be when i have a lot of time.. but i think you're probably right- the Odyssey seems like a lot more fun than the Iliad.

I actually went to a talk at the start of the semester about horses in Ancient Greece, and one of its main points was that many ships were referred to as horse like or simply as horses, so the Trojan horse was probably just a trireme!

Wolfy I need help, I’m a classics senior and somehow I’ve never read the Iliad, are there any moments similar to Telemachus and menelaus listening to songs of the past, or Odysseus bawling his eyes out disguised as a beggar hearing music performed about his fallen comrades?

Uhhhhhh there the scene in book 6 with hector and his son astyanax, there's the iconic scene with Priam and Achilles, there's that one scene of Helen talking to Priam about the Greek kings and her brothers who she didn't know were dead if those count agdhdb

I’m currently saving some money so I can buy a few of your prints together, but I showed my mom the ones I picked out (boom boom, what I would give if I could live out of these waters) and she wants to have at last, at last in her office at the hospital!
