Posted @withregram • @cozmo_olssonilund IT STARTED IN AN UNDERGROUND BASEMENT Gianluca La Bruna on the project “Plan B” now showing at gallery cozmo. The project, now a photobook and an exhibition, started when Gianluca came to Sweden from Italy in 2014. He describes his first meeting with this creative community, and what grew (and keeps growing) around Plan B in Malmö, like this: “What I didn’t know yet is that I would have found myself among people and musicians willing to create an alternative scenario in their city. A space where people who don’t normally feel at home anywhere could find a protected shelter to express themselves. A “Plan B”, as they called the space. It started in this six-meter-underground basement in Norra Grängesbergsgatan 19. A new DIY community came out of the blue. Lots of people joined, they came and went leaving a little piece of themselves, claiming their ‘difference’, if one can use this word. I believe places like this don’t rise up so easily. The dedication that people put into it was amazing. It has been literally and physically built by those running the venue as much as by the audience attending the concerts. It was a community that welcomed and gave a space to people and artists who would have found otherwise hard finding their place into working life and their socioeconomic establishment. It has brought together different nationalities, social groups and subcultures. I was one of them, one could say that it has been my plan B.” Photo: Gianluca La Bruna, Plan B. #cozmothegallery #cozmotheagency #thecozmoshow #planB #gianlucalabruna #norragrängesbergsgatan #malmöstad #konstpåvästergatan @gianlucalabruna (at cozmo) https://www.instagram.com/p/CY80cKXsi_I/?utm_medium=tumblr
