“Babe!” Gianna exclaimed as she practically ran through their household, nearly tripping over Jellybean as she slid from the front door to the living room where she assumed her boyfriend would be. Giving him practically no choice in the matter, Gianna was running at him and jumping into his arms, knowing the man was used to her shenanigans and would never let her hit the ground. Since Levi had returned things had been going really well with them. She had been staying here all the time, her apartment being used as a ‘prepare for the worse’ bunker of sorts, though the oven still not functioning correctly. “So I was getting ice cream with Wesley, right?” She started telling him after a quick kiss on the lips. “And we stopped at the animal shelter because cute animals, right? Well, there is an adorable great dane puppy there that someone abandoned in a trash can. Anyways, he’s adorable and you need to come see him right now!”

All Gianna wanted was to help Raye out. Since everything that happened with them was put behind them, Gianna was happy to have her as a sister. That meant getting back to the way they used to be before Raye and Wesley broke up. That’s what had her stopping by the theater, wondering if her sister in law needed help with anything. Making her familiar way to the office, Gianna knocked on the door twice before popping in. “Hi! I brought you lunch! Plus I wanted to see if you needed help with anything!”

It felt like a lifetime since Gianna had been around her brother. She didn’t like that. Luckily she knew she didn’t have to worry when his wife was around. Raye was not going to let anything happen to Wesley again. That was all that she cared about. Sticking her head in the doorway, Gianna cleared her throat as she looked around without paying much attention. “Sully? Are you home? Are you decent? If you and Raye and making me a niece or nephew just tell me to go away!”

With everyone being back now there wasn’t a single thing bringing Gianna down. Wesley and Raye seemed happy and Levi had been fantastic since returning. The only thing she wasn’t a big fan of was how the mayor seemed to be hunting down those responsible for the kidnappings. Not that Gianna was going to get involved with any of that. She had spent enough time in a police station to serve her curiosity for a lifetime. After all, she seemed to be the prime suspect in the kidnappings until Nyx and Zeus decided to fight each other. None of this mattered to her now, she was just so happy to have not left the island and there was no better way to celebrate it then by spending time with those she cared about. Deciding tonight she was going to bug River, her best friend outside of Jasmine, Gianna had a jar of moonshine and a bunch of baked edibles and was cautiously carrying it to his home. Without knocking, Gianna let herself in and the moment she sat down the treats on his coffee table she all but piled on top of him, laying dramatically on him. “Ew you have lipstick on the collar of your shirt. Also no one is here right? I need amusement for the evening. Levi’s at a ‘Hades family meeting’ which is usually code for Scout and Raye are going to fight someone.”

“Alright, no more sulking,” Gianna spoke as she pushed on Jasmine’s legs to try and kick the girl off her resting place. “Luna is gone, Levi and Wesley are gone, but we’re still here and we’re going to find them.” Her idea might not have been the best but at least Gwen would be proud of Gianna for attempting to execute it. “I’m the daughter of the god of war. Certainly we can come up with some sort of battle plan to find them, right? Or burn the island down trying! I’m sure I could convince Raye to join in our quest. A child of Hades could come in handy. Now get up, smoke this joint with me, and let’s go break things.”

“I hate this,” Gianna whined as she plopped down beside her friend, who was more friends with her brother but she considered a friend. That seemed to be how most of her relationships went. They knew her through Wesley but that was enough for Gianna. Unless you were trying not to think of her brother, much like Gianna currently was. Not thinking of Wesley made it easier to forget for a moment that he wasn’t here. That she couldn’t call to whine to him about whatever was happening in her life. This hurt more than losing Levi ever could. So why not travel through the woods with no warning to anyone and accidentally stumbling into Mira in the process. “What are we even supposed to do now? How do we move on from this?”

Gianna hadn’t felt much like herself since the disappearances began. First, losing Levi while they were fighting had crushed her but it was nothing compared to the despair she felt when it came out that Wesley was gone as well. She had tried to keep herself together, mimicked the emotions that everyone else seemed to have. Sure, most people had someone they cared about and they very well could have been gone too, but Gianna felt like the world was almost picking on her. Kicking her when she was down. There was only one person who could understand how awful she felt and standing in front of her brother’s front door, Gianna didn’t even know if Raye would be here. It took about ten minutes to muster up the courage to knock, two solemn knocks before she crossed her arms to as if protecting herself.

Everything in her life felt like it blasting past her and she had no idea how to focus or slow it all down. Since the moment that Wesley told her that Levi was missing, Gianna thought about everything that had happened and how frivolous it had seemed. Her world might have stopped but the rest of it kept going and she found herself standing outside of Ugly Mug, trying to get herself the courage to bring herself to go clock in. Of course, her boss seemed to be understanding to a degree. If she didn’t show, Gianna seriously doubted that she would be fired but she still wanted to try. If only her feet would move and air would push through her lungs. There was no way she could do it and just as she went to move away from the wall, Gianna’s eyes spotted a familiar figure across the street. Raye. After everything that had happened with Wesley, Gianna hated the woman. Now she found herself moving towards her, calling her name out, although it seemed to stay at a whisper. “I, um, can I speak with you?” She finally spoke louder, stepping in front of the woman.
