From the way the night was unfolding, Johnathan was able to deduce two things: the Russians were targetting the Italians and the French, and the French were busy defending themselves. Which meant, this was not their fight.

However, Johnathan remembered how Gianna had walked in with Vincenzo earlier at the ceremony, how easily she could be tied with the Italians. So, without a second thought, he pushed past the rabid dogs in an attempt to find her, and he did so knowing the kind of idiots that would attract.

A hand grabs him by the shoulder and pulls him back. In a matter of seconds, he's wrestling off two guys. With the adrenaline kicking in, he doesn't even notice how the stitches on his sides have burst as the blood slowly soaks his white shirt. A third, who'd been kicked to the floor, reaches up and drags him down, which sends Johnathan tumbling over.

Heidi was surprisingly enjoying her time at Candyland. It wasn’t the greatest thing in the world, but it wasn’t the worst Valentine’s Day she had ever celebrated and things were actually going really well. Even if the Canaries lost regionals, there was one thing for her to look forward to. Her and Kaden were going to get back together and after the night they were having? That seemed to be the most plausible scenario to come out of the night. Sometime throughout the night, Heidi and Gianna had crept off to the restroom to touch up on their makeup and gossip without the likes of any McKinley or Carmel kids listening on in them. Opening the door, she quietly muttered an “ew” and then furthered her steps into the bathroom, heading straight to the sinks and mirrors. “So,” Heidi started, a smile appearing on her face as she looked straight into the mirror, her fingers instinctively going up to her lips and wiping off any smeared lipstick. “I think Kaden and I are like actually getting back together,” she revealed, her eyes darting to look at Gi in the mirror. She was ready for any and all backlash her friend had for Kaden considering Heidi knew that if someone wasn’t his biggest fan, it was probably Gianna Stone. “And we for sure need to discuss you and Trace, smooch,” a grimace appeared on her face as she reached a hand into her hair, tousling it to give it more volume as it had fallen flat. “I mean, cousins should totally be off limits. Besides, Trace is...” she couldn’t find the words to explain him but she did physically shudder at the thought of him and Gigi. “Then again,” this time she turned her head to look at Gigi for real this time, “do you think I’m Dylan’s type?”

Giovanni is a human employed as a secretary for the Volturi. He knows what the Volturi are and what they do and hopes to become a vampire. Before accepting a position in service to Aro & the Volturi, Giovanni was pursuing a doctorate in history from the University of Rome with a focus on ancient civilizations. During his research, Giovanni discovered several old documents from varying eras issued to the same alias & eventually (and painstakingly) followed the paper trail back to the city of Volterra. When a lowranking guard overheard him asking questions in the local records office, he was invited to meet with the masters.

Giovanni didn’t have much choice in the matter, having indirectly discovered the three ancients & thus vampires. He accepted the position as an alternative to death but quickly found his footing in the castle. The more he works with the guard & the masters, the more he begins to crave the immortal bite.

Though he knows he is currently in a career with a 100% mortality rate, Giovanni believes he can break the cycle & prove his usefulness to the masters.
