actually really glad i decided to watch georges stream response and i'll put my thoughts under the cut but it does put a few more things into perspective for me

first of all just want to say i totally understand now why people thought his response was shit because he is very, very defensive. his apology is fine, but it kind of gets overshadowed by how defensive he was, and if u go into the stream thinking he's just going to be making excuses to defend himself, then ur going to come away from it thinking he did a pretty shit job of everything

however. based on the sheer number of inconsistencies between their stories, and the more inflammatory language used by caiti that just seems. so far off from the actual situation, i really do understand why george was so defensive

this is someone who he later messaged for months after, who expressed no ill intent with him, suddenly coming out and framing him as having committed a terrible crime. and that absolutely does not sit right with me.

so while i still sympathize with caiti, and i still think george owes her a sincere and thorough apology And his time spent considering why she may have felt unsafe in that scenario and unlearning the assumptions he made, i think she went about this the wrong way, and i believe the assumption that her friends convinced her that the language she used in her stream was correct.

i hope caiti is able to heal, and i hope george learns

The usual banter, a game she knew by heart now. A dance between impertinence and humor she had learned to master perfectly. Discussions thrown in between classes while she cheerfully played her part in a fantasy she knew forbidden. But it was innocent enough, wasn’t it?

Then what was it, this time, that had made her take the game too far? It wasn’t the first time Dr. Gideon teased her about her endless waltz of boyfriends and girlfriends (usually different with each passing month). Was it the enlightenment that had been brought upon her as she towered over the very dead body of her first -accidental- victim? A terrifying wave of power, exhilarating and intoxicating.

Her lips locked with his in a kiss as hungry as it was violent, teeth greedily biting the flesh she had seized. The thrill of the embrace she had dreamed about for weeks now made her dizzy. She lost her breath against him, drowning awfully willingly as her nails almost scratched the back of his neck.

Fish kissed like she did everything else, ravenously and passionately.
