Hello! Has anyone else noticed a sudden drop in GIF quality on Discord recently?
I've been noticing this across multiple servers, but it also happens when I send GIFs to friends. GIFs that used to look completely fine are suddenly extremely grainy and blotchy when displayed directly in Discord; even older GIFs that I know for a fact didn't look like this before.
The weird thing is that the actual files are completely fine. If I download the exact same GIF from Discord, it looks normal and the original quality is still there. The same GIFs also look perfectly fine when posted on Tumblr. It's only the way Discord is currently displaying them that looks significantly worse.
Discord used to display these GIFs pretty much the same way Tumblr does, so this seems to be a recent change. Has anyone else noticed this in the last few days? Did Discord change something about how GIFs are displayed or compressed?
