Uanyi Pixel Art Backpack - Here is a great last minute holiday gift for the lil creatives in your home. The Uanyi Pixel Art black canvas backpack let's you or your kids create new oeuvre d'arts everyday with silicon LEGO-like pieces. The pieces adhere to a flexible yellow base on the back of the bag. When your kids get bored of their knapsack, just simply pop off the pieces to create a new 8-bit design.
This bag might make going back to school after the holidays a lil less painful. Check it out at thinkgeek.com
Gift Guide: The Blancier Grand Cru Watch For The Coffee Lover In Your Life
#SuryaRay #Surya As we approach crunch time, I've decided to focus on cool gifts that you can still get for those folks who are hardest to buy for. To that end, here's something decidedly cool and/or odd: it's a handmade watch whose face is a smashed Nespresso pod. At about $600 it's a bit pricey but, behind the silly facade is a handmade timepiece that the coffee-loving watch-hound in your life might enjoy. http://dlvr.it/2fVFWB @suryaray
The Walkings, so much Walking (note: this is the older FItbit, I've since upgraded
As someone who takes pictures [every day](http://everyday.joelzimmerphotography.com/tagged/every+day), I realized that I was walking around a lot and figured it'd be pretty awesome to actually see how much I walk (turns out it's [a lot](https://twitter.com/joelzimmer/status/276781975237427200)). Enter the [Fitbit One](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0095PZHYU/?tag=joelzimmpho05-20) (or the cheaper [Fitbit Zip](http://www.amazon.com/Fitbit-Wireless-Activity-Tracker-Blue/dp/B0095PZIAI/?tag=joelzimmpho05-20) which doesn't track sleep but still is awesome). I toss this in a pocket and then start walking. It sets a goal of 10,000 steps a day which (for a New Yorker) is surprisingly easy to hit. It's not only a great motivator, but an excellent way to passively track data about yourself. As an added benefit, you can just hold down the button before you go to sleep and it'll track how well and how long you sleep for. *What’s going on here? Gift Guide Review: Golla’s Carter Sling Camera Bag
#SuryaRay #Surya My first encounter with Golla bags happened at the Mobile World Congress in 2012. Their vibrant display at the event was hard to ignore. Even now, it's hard to ignore the breadth of designs and options they give you for protecting and toting your personal gear. They sent over their Carter Large Pro Sling Camera Bag for review and I must say there is a lot to like about it. http://dlvr.it/2dJkWx @suryaray
You may remember how I said that [UV Filters are one of the most important pieces of photographic equipment you should own after I broke one but saved a lens](http://everyday.joelzimmerphotography.com/post/12541363875/the-most-important-piece-of-photographic-equipment-you). That's still true. If you want to take it to the next level, and aren't afraid to spend a little more money, then I can whole-heartedly recommend getting a [Circular Polarizing Filter](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004ZCAU/?tag=joelzimmpho05-20) for your lens (make sure you get the right diameter). With this filter, you'll be able to control the exposure of your photos at a finer grain. The biggest benefit of using these filters is really making the [sky pop as nice and blue](everyday.joelzimmerphotography.com/tagged/blue+sky). It acts as a bit of in-camera HDR too, so shots of the ground and sky can be exposed correctly. It also can add contrast when no sky is involved, which can add to the drama/character of a shot. *What’s going on here? The bag in action
I wrote about this [awesome bag insert about a year ago](http://everyday.joelzimmerphotography.com/post/13832129223/whats-in-my-bag-ona-roma-insert), and after well over a couple years of use, it's still one of my favorite photography-related purchases. It makes any bag a camera bag, which means you can pick your own style and still protect your equipment. Grab one for the photographer in your life who wants to protect their gear and keep carrying around the bags they love. *What's going on here?
