Taking a break from Dragon Age to revisit The Elder Scrolls again. ;w;
I have such a fascination with Lucelion's mother, I love that she cared deeply for her child but it wasn't immediately obvious. I would love to know how her affection for her son would have looked
Gignolia shows affection by investing in Lucelion’s future even if that means being absent in his present. She sends him off to the finest school with the best tutors that produces the most esteemed alumni.
If I remember right Lucelion's mother had died of an "illness" as rumors say. What if she was still around would he had been raised different? I don't remeber much if you did talk about her or what her views about her marriage and having her son.
You remember correctly!
Lucelion would not have been raised differently had his mother lived. I haven’t talked much about Gignolia, but Lucelion takes after her a great deal: no one can be quite sure either character is in possession of a personality or would even know what one looked like if it slapped them across the cheek. They’re both soft-spoken, dutiful, apathetic, and rather weak-willed. It would be difficult to tell from the outside that she didn’t care much for her husband or that she cared deeply about their child.
I love seeing your altmer characters, particularly lucelion!
I’m so glad! I can give you a WIP for a painting I’m working on of Lucelion & his mother:
I wouldn’t have taken this idea to this stage without help from the #ArtBlockBust prompts and asks I’ve gotten these past few weeks. It’s been really fun and many thanks to anyone who sent in a prompt. I feel like I’ve finally gotten back into the swing of things! c:
I’ve been playing Skyrim again and y’know what that means...
Elves.
How did Lucelion's mother pass? I believe you mentioned her passing in a tag in a post about Lucelion smiling.
OMG I am SO impressed by your memory! I’m so flattered you’d remember such a detail!
The entire event was very hush-hush. Publicly, the cause of death was an illness she had contracted. From Lucelion’s perspective, the narrative runs as such: he had been isolated from his mother, her symptoms reportedly grew worse, she died from whatever sickness ailed her, and he was permitted to return home.
Of course, you can’t be married to a person who looks like this and not have rumours of foul play abound. Granted, most of these rumours were started by Nuntius, who never liked Gignolia in the first place. So those who thought there were darker forces at play believed that Nocteriil had killed his wife to allow himself to remarry and to sire more heirs, thus ensuring the continuation of his line.
Lucelion's mother, Gignolia.
