If my characters had Disney song numbers it’d probably go like this:

Alec: I won’t say I’m love.

Marcus: Maybe Part of your world.

Raicco: Reflections, or the other one from Mulan, Bring honor to us all (Raicco is secretly Mulan, I swear.)

Micky: Probably  You’ve got a friend in me. OR, Little town.

Michelle: Something there (Belle)/Also, Let it go.

Priam: A whole new world/Son of man.

Clover: When somebody loved me (Jessie - Toy Story) but also Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Sheccid: Poor unfortunate souls (legit)

BONUS: Penny Wingman: (Ironic - Alanis Morisette) (Nobody in Disney has as rotten luck as Penny.)

When bad thing after bad thing keeps happening to the hero of the story and you think surely life is out to get them and it feels like no one else in the story has to live through so much shit, he is what you when you have a character low-key walloing in constant misery with nothing ever working for him.

He is what you get when you have a main character that doesn’t know he’s a main character or how things work for others in his archetype.

She’s what you get when you get a character ready to fight god if need be.

I can legit imagine Clover doing something smart and someone calling her clever because of it and her ‘pff’ing and saying something like “Puh-lease, of course I’m clever, it’s practically my name.”

The attack of the plot bunnies #1

I can admit I’m not a great believer of the supernatural. But I’ve always been of the mind that, if something supernatural was going to happen to me, it’d do so in a night exactly like this one. There’s a sense of possibility in foggy nights, bright with full-moon, filled with the whisper of the wind—a sense of otherworldness—that makes the otherwise perfectly human become enchanted with wonder and mystery.

This is my way of saying in, long words, that that night was already creepy before my best friend knocked on my door claiming to have a body in the trunk of his car.

“You have what?” I asked calmly.

“A body in the trunk of my car,” he answered genially.

People don't part from us without leaving behind pieces. People are inheritably made of crumbles. And, like all natural disasters, when one passes they leave behind their marks; little dents in the fabric of life, made of crumbles, trails. The absence always leaks in. Maybe through the window, or with the morning air.
