Her heart thumped loudly in her chest as the woman strode forward with purpose. Her cape billowing behind her until she stood looking down at a very familiar pink-haired woman. Her expression stern as she held behind her the box of chocolate.

That foolish grin infuriated her so but just as she leaned forward to hand her the surprise, she felt a stab against her back. One shot against her back followed by another and another until her knees grew weak and she dropped against her. 

The Queen grabbed on tightly and her hot breaths came in erratic gasps as one by one the arrows dissolved into her. 

A moment to catch her breath. Another to lay her eyes on the woman she loved, and then she conquered her lips. Fingers gripping the other woman’s face tightly as she pushed herself against her.

So desperate was the kiss that it seemed as if a moment apart would have killed her. Their kiss lasted long, so long that she didn’t let up until she almost passed out from lack of air.

“My love, light of my life, it has been too long since I last saw you.” Hands met and fingers intertwined as she leaned her forehead against the other woman’s. “Let us never part again, my dear Rider.”

“give and take. that’s life.”

“How true, but I suppose that is the case. Still, I must wonder. What have I received for the death of my mother? For the death of my sisters?”

Court of the Queen (Closed)

Under the shade of a palm tree, she sat with her gaze fixated upon the horizon. Reflected in her eyes the azure waves of the ocean lolling lazily extending out forever. A pensive moment of tranquillity in which the princess afforded herself. A simple moment of contemplation for her to simply think as she watched the borders of her little world and the great unknown which extended far beyond her sight.

It had become a daily ritual for her to sit and stare and think. For her to watch the gentle waves, and feel the ocean breeze blow through her, as she sat in communion with Gaia herself. Except, things were different, and though she struggled to understand this feeling at first, when she returned the following day the source of it became more apparent. A dark spot in the face of the sun was growing steadily larger and larger and Diana watched it move ever closer. Until finally she could see the large twin mast of the ship.

When she returned the next day, the ship stood still. Sitting proudly there, it looked as if it belonged and as she stared with mouth agape, a much smaller shadow detached from the colossus of wood.

That’s when she first saw her. Pink locks dancing on the breeze with the sun shining over her, it was, she imagined, how Aphrodite must have landed Cyprus. Yet she did not approach. Merely content to stare from afar, and with her first step upon the sandy beach, Diana turned to leave.

It was on the following day that she returned. Though she had tried to make the act seem casual, it was hard when all eyes were trailed upon her. “Hello.” She spoke to address the general crowd, while her eyes scanned each face for the woman she had seen last.

A look of recognition crossed her features as she made one step towards her. “I am Diana, it would fall to me to welcome you to Themyscira... dear strangers.”

"Are those my clothes?"

The blush came on fast, and unexpectedly, Wonder Woman found herself stuck in a position which few could envy. The jacket which hung awkwardly against her frame, while her forearm stuck out long passed the sleeves, Diana did not look like a queen at all.

“I-- I would... Would it be wrong to say that I rather enjoyed your costume? I think I’ve told you that I had, in my youth, wanted to sail around the world and wearing your costume has reinvigorated my desires.”

Once more she finds herself sitting besides the boastful pirate, a glass filled to the brim. The Queen lifting the glass up to her lips once more as she leaned in to smirk at her companion.

The liquid burned on the way down as per usual, though as it continued down Diana could not help but feel slightly lightheaded. A feeling she had not ever felt before shuddered through her as the glass was slammed down.

“It is good to see you again, Rider.”

“I had not expected another invitation so soon after I was forced to carry you out last time. Yet, it is not unwanted. Though it may perhaps be my turn to entertain you with a tale myself?”

gildedass liked for a starter.

        One might find the Handmaid trembling visibly under the awning  of a  small  clothing  store,  one  hand clutched tight  a- round  a  useless  length of wood  and the other  shielding  her eyes from  the sun.  Those eyes are  wide and  terrified, locked onto the stick in her grasp, trying to decode how this cheap fac- simile has  come  to replace  her actual implement.  She  is by now far too used to being tossed without warning into  strange situations,  but  never  before  has  the situation  been so  over- whelming so immediately. Between the heat, the light, and the void  where her  powers should be, the  best she can  do is be afraid.
