Giles Robson - Summa That Good Stuff (Live) Music Video
28/10/17
Jersey born Giles Robson is most known for his incredible blues harmonica talent bordering Chess Records greatness, also his Howlin' Wolf meets Muddy Waters style vocal delivery, and is massively recognized in the blues world by every publication that avidly follows the said genre. I've watched this guy go from being the harmonica playing frontman of possibly the best punk band to grace our great island (after mine of course haha!!), that being Lawrence Draws Monsters, to smashing the main stage at Jersey Live Festival with his other combo De Nova Blues, lucky for me I still own both of their albums, also a LDM badge. Every time I log into Facebook, the first thing I see is Giles with his phenomenal group of blues magicians pictured at huge festivals all over Europe, Detroit, also of more recent times London's legendary 100 Club, and it makes me smile because I know just how passionate this man is about music, so to see him out there accomplishing his vision is just the greatest feeling for me! As you can see here in this very video, these guys know exactly how to play the same 12 bar blues scales as all their heroes before them. BB King, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy, The Red Devil's and most notably Canned Heat springs to mind, yet there's a dirtiness, also a swampy feel to the Giles Robson Band that gives them their own edge and well deserved throne alongside all the greats! Play this as loud as you possibly can. *********9/10
