Drama Showcase and Author Celebration – 9 February 2019
Would you like to be a theatre critic? have an input into a script before it’s finalised? Then here’s the event for you.
Drama Showcase: a community event where playwrights test their work in front of a live audience. It’s an ideal opportunity to:
ask those questions you’ve been dying to ask
see what’s available for your group to perform
consider getting involved in a future event
support your local community
The first set of scripts have been submitted by local playwrights and range from monologues of a couple of minutes through to small productions of 20 minutes. These will be read by local actors, amateur and more professional.
The first event is Saturday 9 February 2019, 4pm-6pm at St John’s United Reformed Church, Hallowell Road, HA6 1DN (next to the club – please do not park in the club parking, it is private property. Street parking is free.) Entry is £5.00 (£3.00 concession) including refreshments. The event will be followed (6pm-7pm) by an author meet and celebration where you can come and speak to local authors, including those involved in the Drama Showcase, celebrate their achievements and purchase their books.

Walkies (20 mins) – Jane Lockyer Willis Bedtime Story (10 mins) – Melville Lovatt Sarah’s Monologue (5 mins) – Debbie Dye Valentine (15 mins) – Barbara Towell An Update on Daphne (5 mins) – Melville Lovatt Going Out in Style (5 mins) – Melville Lovatt
